Re: Most common score collected for Brook- Jones
I think the draw was the correct score here.
Brook looked good for the first half of the fight, then his gassed out under pressure from Jones. He was lucky to hang on and get the win.
What this fight showed me is that if he steps up his training to elite level, like Amir Khan, then he at least has the skill set to go places. His power at this higher level is not what I thought it would be, but he still has some sting in the punches.
Great fight and it showed that Brook can take a punch if he has to.

i had brook winning by 2 rounds but you cant escape the fact that brook looked vunerable as hell in 2nd half of fight and most of the top welters wont see him as a major threat

Re: Most common score collected for Brook- Jones
geez i musta been watchin a different fight i had it 118-112 brook i had a couple rounds even i knew he was strugglin with stanima and the broken nose but i thoght he was still nickin the rounds i reckon if it wasnt brook fightin and it was just another fighter we,d seen getting roughed up before a few people would have had it wider if brook hadnt had blood all over his face and he wasnt visibly knackered then if you were to look at the more quality boxing i think brook won comfortably(by confortably i mean scorecards) i thought jones showed plenty heart but thats about it in sayin that i suppose if i gave the 2 even rounds to jones then thats 116-112 but thats still wider than most
Re: Most common score collected for Brook- Jones
I had the same - rounds one to seven then 10 and 11 but on reflection when i watched it sobber i thought i was being a bit generous giving him round 11 it was more like a 10-10.The_Don1 wrote:116-113 to Brook for me

I have to be honest i am unsure how anyone scored a draw i can see the 1 round argument but Kell clearly won the first six and the tenth imo.forcefraser wrote:I think the draw was the correct score here.

First 6 to Brook, last 6 to Jones. Watch the 10th again. Sure, Brook had a good spell, but Jones took the round overall for me. Finished it much stronger and outworked Brook.kingfinn wrote:I have to be honest i am unsure how anyone scored a draw i can see the 1 round argument but Kell clearly won the first six and the tenth imo.forcefraser wrote:I think the draw was the correct score here.

I would not argue with anyone who had it for Brook (the 10th) but for me Jones did enough over the full 3 minutes.
Re: Most common score collected for Brook- Jones
I just dont think it was that close brooks jab was working through most of it as well, Jones hardly landled anything clean. Ill have to watch it again. Im definitely a little confused as to how anyone had it a win to jones bacause the 1st 6 rounds were so clear cut.forcefraser wrote:First 6 to Brook, last 6 to Jones. Watch the 10th again.
