it was BILLY MAWSON, who fought Bert Gilroy Dec 23rd 1946. Not MASON.

this correction is reported in the first Jan 1947 issue of Boxing News, pg 13, and also reported in Jack Solomons International Record Books and the Ring Record Books too.

Clements, though leading RETIRED at the end of the 8th owing to an injured hand.

I think you'll find it was Billy Mawson who fought Ernie Roderick, and once again NOT Billy Mason.
