Shane Cameron fighting in December??
His team are in talks with 2 fighters at the moment just waiting on a date
Re: Shane Cameron fighting in December??
I thought he was in talks to fight in Vegas next.
Re: Shane Cameron fighting in December??
Potentially could be fighting on fight 4 life in nz if it's december perhaps!
Probably better to use momentum of the Barrett win sooner rather than later however

Re: Shane Cameron fighting in December??
Tony Grano or Bryant Jennings would be excellent fights (maybe even elims for some Klit or other)

A Lebanese Australian family named Mansour have (or had) a used car lot on Parramatta Road, Granville.
Looking at this bloke's info he is 40 and has spent most of the last decade in prison. The last bit might make it difficult to get into some countries.
Re: Shane Cameron fighting in December??
Can Cameron make Cruiser again....if a title is on the line ??
How about Green v Cameron for the IBO Cruiserweight Title. has a decision been made on the IBO title since Tarver tested pos ?
I reckon Greeny could pack the new Perth arena with a bout against Cameron.

Re: Shane Cameron fighting in December??
My understanding is that Green is aiming to fight at light heavyweight from now on.

Re: Shane Cameron fighting in December??
A Green Vs Cameron fight still makes sense to me, afterall Green is still a hit in WA especially and Cameron after his recent success has increased his name value some! It is a trans-tasman battle which always adds to the mix! Shane in my mind doesnt have alot of fights let in him, mainly due to his fragile hands and the tough fights hes been in including the destruction at the hands of Tua. A Green fight back at Cruiser would no doubt offer him more financially than a potentially risky bout against a Heavyweight Top 30 guy! Yes he could potentially move himself into contention for a Heavyweight Title fight, but he'd need at least 1 if not 2 more meaningful wins at Heavyweight to be in that position and against guys who are rated Top 30 minimum all of which present high risk for low reward in terms of $$$. Yes the pot of gold is the Heavyweight World title fight if he made it there, but that looks miles away compared to if a Green fight was presented. And im talking in terms of $$$. Shane would make more $$ fighitng Green in WA than contemplating a heavyweighy assignment in Vegas or NZ.
Thoughts? Shane has been a warrior from start to finish during his career and you couldnt knock him for looking at a lucrative bout agianst Green at the expense of pushing higher towards the Heavyweight Crown. It is a risk as Shanes at that stage now especially with his hands that another Bad break could mean the end of his career, so every fight is potentially his last (as it is with everybody i suppose)

Re: Shane Cameron fighting in December??
I think Greeny would like to campaign as a light heavy but I am not sure he has the "pull"on the world stage he once had. he has been used to promoting himself and staging his own shows and maybe he isnt getting his own way dealing with Shumenov and who ever else is on his radar. These guys are pros and do it for a living. I think Green v Cameron, in Perth at the new arena makes sense financially.....is the ibo cruiser belt still vacant ??

Shane Cameron's shot at the IBO world cruiserweight title is his fairytale come true.
It has been a long time coming, but Cameron announced today he will fight former three-time Australian cruiserweight champion Danny Green for the vacant world title in Melbourne later this year, after a doping scandal saw Antonio Tarver stripped of his crown.
Tarver beat Green in Sydney to secure the cruiserweight title in July last year, but the American returned a banned anabolic steroid in his pre-fight urine sample prior to this year's draw with Lateef Kayode in June.
Test results were only made public after the fight with Kayode, and Tarver was subsequently stripped of the title, handing the choice of opponent back to previous holder Green.
None of that matters to Cameron.
Two months after his stunning fourth-round knockout of Monte Barrett, a title shot has arrived.
Cameron was thought to be lining up a headline heavyweight contender to bring to New Zealand, but the prospect of a world title in any division is as good as it gets for any boxer.
"It is any fighters dream to compete on the world stage for a world title. There are a lot of fighters that never get this opportunity,"
Cameron told Fairfax Media. "It's like a fairytale."

The Cameron (31-2) Green (37-5) match-up - dubbed Machine v Warrior - has been two-years in the making. The Constellation and Bledisloe Cups are fought with our closest rivals, but this will be a one-on-one trans-Tasman battle like no other.
Cameron has never lost to an Australian and he doesn't intend to start now.
It is understood Cameron's manager, Ken Reinsfield, has been negotiating with the Green camp for the last eight weeks, but the Kiwis have been chasing this fight since 2010.
"This is massive. It is the biggest New Zealand fight since David Tua fought Lenox Lewis [in 2000]," Reinsfield told Fairfax Media. "It's an opportunity to fight for a world title, you never turn them down.
Whether it's heavyweight or cruiserweight you've got to take it. They my never come along in your career."
David Haye, Evander Holyfield, James Toney, Chris Bird and Tomasz Adamek are just some of the illustrious former cruiserweight champions. Many went on to greater feats.
"This could also be a faster track to a heavyweight title," Reinsfield said.
"After years of trying to get this match made, it's on. It's a fight we've been chasing for a long time, but timing is everything. We would have liked to have this fight sooner, but it's worked out better the way it is now."
Cameron tipped the scales at 99kg when he fought Barrett. He will need to drop nearly 9kg to reach cruiserweight restrictions (90.7kg), but can bulk up after the weigh-in.
"Shane's body weight has stabilised and he's closer to cruiserweight than he's ever been," Reinsfield said. "Shane is at a weight class now where he can drift between the two divisions."
The lighter category is a natural fit for Green, who has suffered two defeats - to Tarver and WBC cruiserweight champion Krzysztof Wlodarczyk - in his last three fights.
Perth-based Green regained confidence with a fifth-round TKO of Danny Santiago in July.
While the loss in weight may diminish Cameron's power, he is undefeated in four cruiserweight fights, the last of which saw him claim the Commonwealth title with a brutal 12th round stoppage of Dominic Vea in July last year.
Just as he did against Barrett, Cameron, 34, will have the age advantage over Green, 39.
"I'm definitely confident," Cameron said expectantly.

Re: Shane Cameron fighting in December??
another error ridden boxing article from NZ but im happy for Shane to finally get his shot at Green. Surprised Kayode isnt getting the shot first but I think he would be mandated to face the winner by the IBO? if thats the case Shane has two tough fights ahead of him if he beats Green

Re: Shane Cameron fighting in December??
A pretty good fight IMO. Forget the bogus world title though.
This is a hard fight for green, Cameron will have the edge in power. It's better green stays at190-195. I had my doubts he could make the light heavy limit

This fight was a natural fight to happen, as I've been saying for a couple of years Cameron overpowers the ageing Green

He may well do but making weight might also reduce Cameron's power again. He didn't seem to have the whack he produced against Barrett when he was fighting at cruiser.Craigyid14 wrote:This fight was a natural fight to happen, as I've been saying for a couple of years Cameron overpowers the ageing Green

Vea might disagree with you but I know what your saying. He looked bad against Ammann but Mckracken aint easy to KO. He was actually 97kg in the Barrett fight so he has to lose about 7kg. Easy for a pro athlete
Who should Geale fight next?
After failing to secure a top US heavyweight fighter this is a outstanding fight for Shane good luck to him and his team
