Darlington Abandoned - Another Riot!
Fighting has broken out at Darlington during the main event, at the end of the 3rd, all hell has broken loose, Peter Jackson has just phoned me to tell that around 150 chairs have been thrown.
He seemed to indicate it was Moir's fans.
The show has been abandoned and the police are now there. Jacko said he has never seen nothing like it and said it looks like a War Zone.

my mates just rang me and told me the safest place was in the ring - he compared the riot to the hagler v minter aftermath
he didnt blame any boxing fans - said it was two different groups of soccer fans who started it (darlo and newcastle fans) though they were both obviously supporting jones and moir

Hello to all. It's gone 1.20 am, I'm knackered and generally gutted. Like Jacko, I would say I haven't seen anything like it. But I have. I was at the Rotherham one. Must be jinxed.
This one was a lot worse though. Filed a riot report and separate fight card report. If it isn't up to my usual standard, you'll know why.
There were a lot of quotes I couldn't use though!

Very glad to see Ian is Ok and it seems nobody was serioulsy injured.stujones wrote:Hope Ian is okay, Hope everyone is okay actually.
And although the last thing Boxing needs is seriuolsy hurt fans at an event a little part of me wish that theese animals would just have killed each other so we wouldnt have to put up with their idiocy in the future.
At Bridgend a load of Scotts were there cheering on the Scottish lads, they were all pi$$ed up but not a single cross word was said or a chair thrown. And who says its just us English that cant handle a shandy
I was at the Nigel Benn V Juan Carlos Giménez Ferreyra fight at Birmingham NEC in 1994. There was a riot at that one to, very scary it was between 'fans' of Steve Foster Snr and Robert McCracken who were fighting on the undercard.
I think eventually about 9 people got arrested for that one, I hope they were suitable punished, although there was a lot more than 9 people in the riot.
I think soeone lost an eye during this riot.
