Fighters can't be saved by the bell in any round....

including the 12 round under a lot of boards rules including the unified World title rules. I'v just been wondering tho, at what point is a fighter considered to be knocked down in this extreme situation.
If a fighter is say way ahead on the scorecard with 10 seconds left but is hanging on and taking a load of shots that stun him, and he takes one massive shot that sends him over, but the bell rings say a second before his glove touches the ground what does the ref do? Start counting or say no the fighter didn't touch down before the bell rung? Are there any instances of this happening in a World title fight?
