Fight of the night? *spoilers

Post by Final round »

My vote goes to Maidana vs Soto Karass, it was a brutal bad tempered, back and forth slug fest. It delivered.

Disappointment of the night is Martinez v Chavez, round after round of Martinez hitting his fist against a very thick headed wall. Until he was that fucked in the twelfth he almost got stopped.

Runner-up Ponce De Leon v Gonazales which after Madaina/Karass had got the crowd going was a bit of a chess match, with both wary of each others power. Gonzales peeled back Ponceys cap and Daniel crushed Jhonny eye socket in return to go to the cards.

Performance of the night for me? Alvarez v Lopez Take note Chavez XXXL this is how a bigger man deals with a smaller man, and also this is how you go the body. Ask Dad all about it. Lopez had his liver tenderised and his ribs crushed when he left the ring.

Imitation of the night goes to Mini-me Margarito - Leo Santa Cruz.

Referee of the night , Kenny 'Can Do' Bayless who after dodging full on fighting after the break between Maidana and Karass, got straight back in the ring with Gonazales-De Leon .

I didn't see all the undercard for Martinez-Chavez so if I missed something good let me know.

Hernandez vs Troy was decent too, Troy couldn't miss with the powerful right handers and Hernandez was on his way a few times.

I thought the Martinez-Beltran fight was the best on offer.

Some real top quality fights. For me Ross- Cunningham was superb both men lading and hurting each other, looked like one punch could settle it! Maidana is never in a full fight an his figt with Karass was as good as I expected, very entertaining fight. However I was expecting Ponce De Leon- Gonzalez to be fight of the night but both seemed wary of each others power and it never really got set alight. What a night of action though

It was this time last year when Sky got the Goldenboy card with Maidana/Morales, Gurrero v Katsidis, Garcia-Campbell, Kirkland getting Kayoed etc they missed a trick not getting either the TR or GB cards imo.

:?? fk knows, probably similar to Skys viewing figures for Dawson vs Ward...
I subscribed to Sky Sports for boxing for the past few years, they've shown their lack of commitment to the sport recently, missing big cards like last night illustrates it and I cancelled yesterday .

Boxing overseas unless British fighter in get very tiny audiences. That's why they don't bother anymore! I still surprised theyshow boxing I thought they were going to get rid of it.

I'm also going with the Beltran fight, shame Russell Mora effectively decided the winner =/

Yep just watched it Rocky v Beltran was very good quality :TU: :OhYes: but I'm sticking with Maidana v Karass! I didn't think Mora was that bad..

Maidana looked like he'd added a bit more to his game, it could have been the opponent though.
