Roach allowing Chavez Jr's shenanigans: not good

Post by jewboypgh »

Is it just me, or did any of yinz lose some respect for Roach for how he let Chavez Jr. do whatever he wanted before
that last fight? I like Roach, but he kinda looked like a shit stain with how he let that immature, bong ripping, Chavez Jr
behave before the fight. Teddy Atlas would have sent that kid home if he wasnt showing up and working hard. I aint
sayin' Atlas is a better trainer.....I'm just pointing out that Atlas woulda never tolerated what Roach did!

Why would it surprise you? Even with the extremely low standards of Boxing testing Freddie this isn't the first fighter Freddie has been with that got popped.

More like Chavez would've sent Atlas home.
This is not a player/coach situation in a team sport where the coach can fine/discipline the player based on authority vested in him by the team. Chavez is the employer. Roach is the employee. Pretty simple. The employee doesn't "allow" the employer to do X, and the employer doesn't get sent home by the employee.

Chavez with that attiude would never workout with certain trainers. Maybe Freddie gave Jr the amount of training he deserved

Exactly. You can't train someone who doesn't want to be trained. Maybe Chavez will finally learn about dedication.

I bet Freddie got a good personal laugh during and after the fight. Chavez Jr really was heck of disrespectful to Freddie

Is this thread on the right Forum? This is the Boxers of the Past Forum where we should not have to hear about current fighters.

Freddie is an asshole.
i have no problem with that statement whatsoever.
joking on his name or even his illness is another story,
which some simply don't understand and never will.
