Re: Danny Williams - Knockdowns
I wonder if he has the largest ratio of KD to KO (for the 10) in world boxing currently. When Herbie went down more times than not, he wouldn't get up. Danny always rises to his feet very quickly, then boom down again, up, down, up, down etc etc.

Danny's not even losing to fringe guys anymore. He's getting KO'd by sort of journeymen!

Re: Danny Williams - Knockdowns
The first time he was down as a pro was versus Samil Sam a few times, I seem to recall a slip being ruled a KD vs Mark Potter. Down 4 times vs Vitali K. Down once in the Audley rematch.
That's 9 by my count up until 2006, when he should have retired. After that someone would have to check how many times he was down vs Sosnowski, Airich, Baker, Chisora and all these other bums.

Hasn't Samil Sam's liver packed in or something. I remember reading a report about him being in a bad bad bad way

Re: Danny Williams - Knockdowns
Even in their primes, Williams and Sprott had about double the number of knockdowns than "chinny" Audley Harrison has racked up in his whole career.
Re: Danny Williams - Knockdowns
vs Samil Sam = 3 times
vs V Klitschko = 4 times
vs A Harrison = 1 time
vs Airich = 2 standing 8 counts
vs Sosnowski = 1 time
vs Baker = 2 times
vs Chisora = 2 times
Go to go now, but I'll come back and add to the list if I'm able to.

They also probably had a lot less talent than Aud but both went on to have better pro careers.... swings and roundabouts.oliverfennell wrote:Even in their primes, Williams and Sprott had about double the number of knockdowns than "chinny" Audley Harrison has racked up in his whole career.

But what dangerous punchers did Harrison actually face? Oh yeah, Haye, and that didn't go too well for him. Who else? Plus he got marmalised by one shot from Sprott who isn't a heavy hitter.oliverfennell wrote:Even in their primes, Williams and Sprott had about double the number of knockdowns than "chinny" Audley Harrison has racked up in his whole career.

Terrible news about Samil Sam - that explains his mysterious disappearance. How does a young strong man's liver suddenly pack in? Seems strange.
