The commentators on his fights will have to alter traditional boxing jargon or be accused of being homophobic themselves or making him out to be a sexual predator.
They wont be able to say "Cruz is going downstairs on his opponent"...."he's hooking his man"....."He's gone down"..."he needs to hold his opponent in the clinches"....and if Steve Smoger calls him "baby" Cruz might complain of sexual harrasment......the permutations are endless but its good for boxing as the bigots will have to change their mindsets.... some of his opponents who may be bigoted might be psycologically affected if they cut Cruz and lay off him for fear of getting his in their minds potentially affected blood!............. (PS for attention of a cocksucker like hurlock this post is tongue in cheek! (Whoops thats another phrase commentators wont be able to make about Gomez's pre fight comments)
"Cruz is beating his man around the ring."
"Cruz is on his backside."
"Cruz is keeping his man occupied with his left glove."
"Cruz is gonna need some Vaseline on that one."
"The referee is pulling Cruz off."
"That's a hard blow from Cruz."
"Cruz is blowing."
"Cruz's shots aren't straight enough."
"Cruz likes dancing around the ring."
"Cruz has been shafted by the judges."
'cruz is being battered in the ring '
Probably a good thing for the gay community but should make little difference to everyone else.
Unless he beats you live that one down ...
Interesting, he is the first to publicly announce his sexuality.
Good on him and good not just for this sport but for sport in general, and it will give him more confidence because he is not having to hide it or lie to anyone or worry about what people will think and will hopefully attract a new audience to this sport we all love.
