An interesting read. But sounds like Dokes was just a seedy, low IQ, flash, degenerate man.

and teh remarkable thing is the dokes that fought holyfield was pretty much shot already. His handspeed in that fight was clearly far slower than his early 80s heyday when he fought weaver and gardner etc , the coke had ruined the reflexes too and clearly he was far heavier , yet Holyfield has been quoted as saying Dokes still had the fastest hands of any HW he met (personally I think Tyson in 96-97 was quicker).
