Re: manager
What does this mean ? - I assume it means that you wil get a purse, and will also sell x amount of tickets for a fight on a show that is local to where you live.kells wrote:iv decided id like to do couple ticket shows to end,
For this your opponent will be a boxer who turns up and gets a purse but does not need to sell tickets ? - the inference being that the home boxer will have the various advantages ?
Roughly how many tickets would you need to sell in order to get this "advantage" ?
Ps - serious question, just trying to understand how the sport actually operates at this level.

Re: manager
I know a guy who was asked to sell a minimum of 60 tickets at 8 days notice just a few weeks ago .
He sold 54 and therfor didnt get paid , the alternative was that the fight was pulled and he didnt want to let his travelling support down so boxed for free , in my view it shouldnt be allowed to happen because its a dangerous sport , asking people to risk their health for free is a joke .
The promoters who do this know im talking about them , they are a disgrace .
some sort of minimum wage should be brought in .
Maybe tell the boxers if they dont sell enough tickets that they should have their pay halved , not ideal i know but better .
I understand promoters have costs to cover but they arent putting anything more than money at stake , the boxer is risking a lot more .
