Martin Murray v CraigMcEwan

Post by billy nelson »

As Craigs manager I would like to respond to Martins claim that Craig has refused a fight with him as nonsense,I was asked months ago if we'd fight Martin in some form of eliminator and Craig was well up for it, however Martins management team couldn't or wouldn't make the fight.

To be honest I can't see the appeal of the fight for Murray

The fight never happened because the WBA wouldn't sanction McEwan in a interim fight same with Lee

I think Murray would destroy McEwan. I have been proved wrong by Billy more than once, just can't see it this time. Moot point I suppose, no real carrot for Murray (and team) to make that fight.

Andy Lee tweeted me that he was never offered Murray either.

I know Macklin was, but Macklin said the money was a joke.

Hope Murray gets some good fights soon though as he is a good lad and I'd like to see him do well.

I think noth lee and mcewan were put forward to the wba for the interim fight obviously both would have been made a formal offer if the wba had approved them, just politics so there still waiting on an opponent.

I get the feeling the Barker fight would happen if Barker comes through against Hope, preferbly with a solid performance and more importantly no injuries.
