I get the feeling Alexander will swerve Brook. Not because he's afraid to face him but I'd imagine he thinks he's big time and may not be interested if the fight is staged over here.

but to swerve brook surely he has to give up his title and brook fights for the vacant title!

I really want to see this and would like it over here but
i honestly believe Kell wont be denied with a belt on the line.
And long term better to make a statement in the US.Khan and Hatton are great payday's
but even if he beat both who will give him credit on the world stage given their reputations in
America.

Can't see it happening Alexander can't generate revenue in the US and as made it known he won't fight over here, can see him going back down to light middle against Garcia or Khan, Brook may have to fight for the vacant title, that would suit Hearn more, then he can pick and choose and have more control of a fight in Britain, shame really Alexander looks on the slide a little bit, not been the same since Bradley.

What do you mean h cant generate revenue in the US? He is one of the bigger draws in US boxing he fills the St Louis arena up fairly well when he fights there. The only fight that was a flop was the Bradley fight which was in the middle of nowhere beacuase somebody paid a massive site fee for it.

Not anymore, even before the venue was announced, it was predicted that Bradley/Alexander would be a financial flop, not big personalities, come on a unification fight, both unbeaten and no big interest ?

Indeed. Alexander has always had a much bigger fanbase in the states than Bradley. He is a decent ticket seller. The only reason the Bradley fight flopped was due to Bradley's almost non-existent fanbase at the time.

However, Bradley's fanbase has probably increased since the Pacquiao/Bradley fight.

I think Alexander is between a rock and a hard place. As his manager you dont really want to face Brook high risk low reward. That said he isnt really in that mix to fight Bradley Pac or Mayweather at the moment. The problem is he is usedto getting pretty big purses for fighting quite average opponents when he didnt deserve it.

It will take a monster offer for Hearn to interest Alexander to coming here but that might be what he has up his sleeve....He did it for Froch and Kell is his other flagship fighter.

Agree that it'll be ugly, but I think Alexander will probably take a real close decision.... That said, I don't think this is gonna happen. I think Alexander will drop the belt if he can find a decent name instead and let Kell have the belt then maybe we might see Alexander Brook somewhere down the line. I don't think either will really fancy this fight so I think they'll both be looking for ways around it. Brook needs a title fight though, so if Alexander wont give up the belt then we might see a bit of a stalemate and end up with the fight anyway. I'm thinking Malignaggi might come to the rescue for one of them. Much less risk, still has the reward of a title.

To be fair to Alexander his recent opposition has actually been quite good.

Alexander's last 7 opponents: Witter, Urango, Kotelnyk, Bradley, Matthysse, Maidana & Bailey.

He was getting silly moneyfor those fights when they didnt reflect both the level of the fight or the draw of Alexander. His opponents are decent but Alexander was getting millions for some of these fights.

First I read a poster insinuating that Anthony Crolla might be on the slide at 25, now Devon Alexander, who hasn't had a tough career, might be on the slide at 25 also. He is YOUNGER than Brook.

One cautious performance doesn't make a fighter shot or faded, not at 24/25.

Witter was just a level below. Maidana and Kotelnyk were good wins. He look aweful in the other fights (Urango he should win 100x out of 100)

Kell beats Alexander up everyday of the week and twice on Tuesdays!!!

If Kell has to travel to the US and he has a bad night, Alexander will still lose a wide decision, but I reckon Kell stops him mid rounds

Still can't believe people aren't seeing how exceptional Kell is :o :o

Kotelnik arguably beat him and the less said about his Bradley performance the better

Brook is, quite possibly, THE most overrated guy on these boards. I have no confidence, whatsoever, in him being able to mix it with the top guys in the division.

He didn't look like a world beater against Carson Jones.

Alexander is very experienced at world level (his level of opposition in the last few years is amongst the best in the world P4P), he is a former unified champion at light welterweight and he is a two weight world champion.

I think there is a good chance that he will come to England and kick Brook's bum.

If Brook hits him hard Alexander will sit too tight and and fight scared ala Bradley, Brook sells tickets in Sheffield and would get a lop sided decision; big money defences v Khan and Hatton + another 2 or 3 before boxing anyone at the top of the game.

(What would it say about Brook at high level if Purdy beats Jones in a convincing manner?)

A tough 12 round fight for Kell should he face Alexander. The question mark over his stamina and whether he can pace the distance correctly, is still out there to be answered.

Kell is being hyped and I wish him all the best but still, he struggled with Carson Jones who is now fighting Lee Purdy.
