Blurred or double vision is moer often than not a clear sign of concussion, the part of the brain that controls sight is at the back, so when a fighter takes a heavy blow and their head jerks backward the rear of brain bounces off the skull which results in some sort of damage and swelling (if severe enough, bleeding).
In Ward's case possilbly the damage may be permanent as maybe it would've cleared up by now?
