A Cure for insomnia. The most boring fight you've ever seen?
What's the most boring fight you've ever been to?
I have a hands down winner. Lee Haskins v Don broadhurst from a few years back. I think seven punches were thrown in a 12 round fight. It was so painful It felt as if someone had violently grabbed hold of my man parts and pulled with all their might, and preceded to take 40quid out of my wallet as I rolled around in agony.
Was just wondering what are other peoples?

Jonny 'the entertainer' Nelson was never in a dull fight!
Re: A Cure for insomnia. The most boring fight you've ever seen?
Nelson v De Leon was excrutiating
. As where a lot of Nelson's "fights". If he was your introduction to boxing, you'd probably never watch the sport again.

Fast talking Nathen Cleverly v Tommy Karpencey was a very dull and absolutely pointless fight

There are fights that at the time were expected to be exciting but turned out 'boring'
I'd put both Lewis v Holyfield fights in there.

In fact the whole bil on that one was boring, Ray Mercer scrapped past Ossie Ocasio, and also Andrew Maynard and Tommy Morrison won boring fights on points.Old bones Ian wrote:Leonard v Duran III.

That always comes up in these sort of posts but I will always have fond memories of watching that out there. Possibly due to the strength of the German beer and the atmosphere created by the couple of thousand of us out there.
That said I used the fast forward button a fair amount when I watched it back on arrival in the UK

I still can't believe so many people have seen Nelson v De Leon. Has anyone actually tracked it down to find out if it is as bad as people make out?

I'm pretty sure it was live on ITV, It sticks in my mind as it was a couple of days before my 16th Birthday. We had piled into a pals house who's mam and dad had gone out.Lenny wrote:I still can't believe so many people have seen Nelson v De Leon. With some cans of Ace larger and bottles of Thunderbird we settled down and watched the worst fight I have ever seen.
A memorable event.
