Boxers diets

Post by TJ77 »

Im sure this will be an everyday subject for some posters.
But i'd be interested to get an incling into how boxers get the
Nutrition needed for the extreme physical demands of training while
getting their weight down?
What gets eaten on an average day?
And how much has it changed over the years ?

I say there is a lot of work to be done in that area. Id say this is why we have had a crop of boxers all failing drug tests for Methylhexaneamine id say there all using this as they feel shit before training beacuse there all cutting weight by low carbing and have no energy to train.

I'd say you should take out a subscription to Fighting Fit. Cheap plug certainly but we do feature content of this type every month.

mma mag .

Without going into the full marketing spiel, we're a training mag and around 40% boxing 40% MMA and 20% other combat sports and crossover content like scientific training and nutrition. The latest has Hatton on the cover... in a ball of flame. Would love to get your feedback.

My initial resentment was that this magazine gives away the secrets some of us have spent a lifetime learning lol  the truth is i wish this magazine and the knowledge it contains were around when i was 18. Great publication.....and in this era of the printed press being in terminal decline...its a magazine worth every penny of the £4.95 a month

That's really nice of you to say. We work very hard and recognition from readers is the only type we want or need.

I have to say it's a great publication as well. Bought the issue with the Froch cover when I was back in the UK a couple of weeks ago and close to taking out a subscription - just wish it wasn't so prohibitive for overseas readers. I always buy BN, BM, Fighters Only and Train Hard, Fight Easy when I'm back, but it's the strongest of them all as things stand and is absolutely trouncing THFE.
Danny, it's a tiny thing, but for me the Froch feature was really screwed up by the designer opting for WOB when the text was in such a tiny point size - it genuinely frustrated me as I could barely decipher it as a result. It may have looked nice, but design should never take precedence to the extent that it's having a detrimental impact on readability.
On a more positive note, absolutely love the S&C tests of different fighters - great data and fascinating to see the way they match up.

Thanks for the kind words first of all. Regarding design, I take as much responsibility as the designer; the buck stops with me. Making the magazine more readable - in the literal sense - is something we have worked on, especially regarding point sizes and font weight. I think you will find a significant improvement in this area in the latest issue - Ricky Hatton on the cover. Regarding international subs cost, I know, it's a real bugbear for me too. All I can suggest is that you try the digital edition on our app. If you are averse to reading on a phone or tablet I completely understand but if not it works out far cheaper for overseas readers. We're just just finishing the next issue now and the training section is huge so I reckon you'll like it. Thanks again and if you ever want to email me it's [email protected]

Digital's not a bad call Danny as I haven't succumbed to the ipad yet but the new ipad mini has got my name written all over it so digital sub would definitely be the way to go :TU:

I subscribed via the app for an annual subscription. It confirmed that my subscription was successful but when I try to read the November or December issue it says I have to buy it. Does it take some days for the subscription to work?

It says I qualify for the current issue plus subsequent issues. Is November or December the current issue?
