Why do we have to login for Brit Forum?
Why is this the only section of the Boxrec forum where you have to log in to just read the threads let alone post?

Re: Why do we have to login for Brit Forum?
Been meaning to ask the same thing for years now.
Can't even save as bookmark after logging in, so tedious and with limited time to spend on here a shame I feel.

It is very tedious, it's either it's a question that has been asked a million times before or no-one wants to clarify.Totybear wrote:Been meaning to ask the same thing for years now.

I suspect someone wants to keep an eye on visitors to The Brit forum? No anonymous eyes viewing topics but many of us are anonymous so what's the point.

There's some answers for you.

It's totally annoying and I have never known anything like it.
If you click remember log in then it should remember, but it doesn't on here for some reason.

I seem to recall the logging in came about around the same time as a certain British promoters name was changed to Allegedly on the board. If I remember rightly that was due to FW getting a load of stick on here for one of Hattons opponents falling through.
I dont know if the logging in and the "Allegedly" are connected, I just seem to recall them both happening around the same time.

Until recently you could view the forum as a guest if you didn't want to post replies or start a thread.mickey1975 wrote:And me. On my laptop and my phone.dondada wrote:It does for me. Always has done.Roco wrote:It's totally annoying and I have never known anything like it.

It's likely to stop google indexing / ranking pages of content before a moderator spots it and then quickly takes it down.
It's also a good tool to see what IP addresses of trolls and lurkers are sniffing around. It prevents a 'banned' entity viewing stuff they are not entitled to.

It's the holy grail, and that isn't just given away. You have to work hard for it. Consider it an access pilgrimage, or just check ''automatically sign me in each visit'' and sell your soul to the internet demons.

Still no clear answers 'why' you have to log in on the Brit Forum and none of the other forums, isn't it about now when someone supposed to pop up with a phone number so I can ask them to their face?
As for stopping trolling, you have to log in to post.

Re: Why do we have to login for Brit Forum?
I am pretty sure the login started when a certain well known UK promotor
tried to engage the mods of this forum with a game of laywerball. Playing a game of laywerball with any well known UK promotor
is not recommended, and as such, steps were taken to regulate strong opinion and traffic.
I think I am right anyway.
