SATURDAYS FREE PRIMETIME SHOW - Estimated Schedule of bouts

Post by stevegoodwin »

5.40 pm Leon Senior v Bartlomiej Grafka
6.15 pm Philip Bowes (4-0) v Stanislav Nenkov (3-0)
6.50 pm Michael Devine v Kristian Dochev
7.30 pm Tyler Goodjohn v Swlwester Walczak
8.10 pm Joe Mullender (2-0) v Samet Hyusenov (2-0)
8.50 pm Lee Markham v Diego Burton
9.30 pm Ian Lewison v Dorian Darch
10.15pm Kris Agyei Dua v Nathan Graham

Times of course are subject to change

Every boxer apart from Dochev has a positive record. Therefore no prospect v survival journeyman fights

Think its Great that you have got TV and the best of Luck :TU: For any boxing fan to tune in with it being on Freeview is nice.. I understand that they are Positive records BUT they are from Bulgaria and Lithuania. imo with a British survival Journeyman the fight might go the Distance. For TV it looks great Two unbeaten fighter's going head to head but for anyone that knows anything about boxing there (Bulgaria and Lithuania) unbeaten record means Nothing at all.

Thanks for the post

Its a fair point on paper. However Hyusienov was the Bulgarian Amateur champion and in their Olympic Squad.

We dont know how good Nenkov is but his amateur record was approx 25-5.

The point I am making is that I agree British journeyman do a fantastic job but everyone knows 95% of the time the prospect wins on points. What we are trying to do is bring opponents who will be adventurous and try. This worked really well on our Londons Calling show where no-one knew for sure what was going to happen next. One of the foreign imports won in the 2nd round etc.

We are trying to do it differently. I have seen many tv shows where you can fall asleep 40-36 60-54 60-54 snooze. TV are not buying into this sort of stuff any more.

We will see how Saturday goes.

For me I cant wait to see the Lewison v Darch fight.

All the best

Steve

There are 10 fights now. We had two drop outs.

Michael Lomax's father died and AJ Carter had a medical issue

Starts 4.45

If you've go a Prospect you bring him a long and imo opponent thats the way to do it. Why would you want ruin a prospect so early?

Who said about ruining a prospect. 4 rounds is fine but once you step up to 6 you are past prospect stage.

Boxing is not working for fans on non big events and attendances show this.

We have to strike a balance.

@stevegoodwin, if I'd warmed up to fight, the last thing I'd want to do is sit through an entire rendition of The Gambler performed by a fairly mediocre live band in centre ring. Who's idea was that, yours or Chunky MkII? Random. ;;-)
