When the drugs don't work?

Post by Ratchet Exits Nu »

Is it a coincidence that the one time Pacman does not use Ariza and his special 'potion', he get knocked out COLD.....

Knocked out cold? He took the best Cotto and Margarito had to offer and hardly flinched, but now he is PUT TO SLEEP motionless on the canvas for several minutes by a bulked up superfeather.

What do you think?

Don't agree.

Cotto did not put a dent in Pacman and he hits with good power as does Margarito.
The 'potion' was missing last nigh, imo.

I blame Floyd Mayweather for all this paranoia that every pudendum is using banned substances.

Pacquaio's increase in weight was due to him growing from a teenager into a man. He lost last night because he has passed his peak.

Neither landed a shot like that.

Hard to argue with that.

People be talking bolllocks. Marquez caught Manny with a perfect shot, which, thanks to Manny's positioning, landed right on the button. Shots like that are rare. The punch was thrown and received perfectly.

I don't think Manny saw the punch coming either. When you add all those things together, it doesn't matter who's on what. Not even PED's can build muscles on your chin.

Precisely. Manny walked straight onto the shot, which had all of JMM's weight behind it. Manny said himself he didn't see the punch.

It annoys me greatly that many people, including some boxing journalists, are now questioning JMM's "cleanliness". Give the man some fvcking respect. He's earned it more than anyone.

I blame Mayweather. He started all of this, with nothing to back it up.

It's amazing how much difference it makes if you don't see the pounch coming......

Don Curry didn't see this coming.

Have you seen the shot in slow motion ?

Marquez hits him flush on the chin with a very short but powerful punch that didn't travel very far. Also, Pacquaio did a sort of mini bowlo punch before he launched himself forward and at that exact same time, Marquez threw the punch. It was a good shot by Marquez, plus as someone else has said, Pacquaio is in decline faster than his peers are in that division.

Even although recent high profile cases have provided confirmation of the extent of PED use in boxing, it still infuriates me that unexpected results now bring a torrent of claims that the victor is "juicing". Somewhere else on this board is a post stating JMM's abuse as "FACT" (which, I assume, means the writer has physically seen the fighter taking drugs or has first hand corroboration of such....).
A fighter like JMM deserves better than this from anyone who considers themself a boxing fan.
Tris Dixon states in the BN preview of the fight that JMM's understanding of modern sports science was such that he was drinking his own urine as recently as the Mayweather fight, for God's sake!
Also, he had hardly stepped up from lightweight at that time. Difference now is he has had a few fights at light welter/welter and prepared accordingly. AND, he has always been a better technical fighter than the toofast-toofurious PAcman.
Let's just give JMM the credit he is due.

To acho DAtsue...."DINAMITA!!" (I re-run both knockdowns about 20 times each already this morning :bag:

Too true. Devastating one punch KO's are usually much more the result of a shot the victim doesn't see coming than the relative power of the opponent.

As I said in a thread in the current scene, it's more to do with where you catch the opponent than how hard. Watch a regular one punch KO artist like Julian Jackson, some of his KO punches don't look all that hard but it's the timing and placement of those punches it's sublime, they're not whacking great swings he's hitting them with.

I know that PED's are very sophisticated these days but what's the name on the bottle of the one that stops you getting KO'd by a highly skilled counter puncher landing right on the button when you run into it and don't see it coming?

Did Williams stop taking it for the Martinez rematch too?

Well there are no peds that will help you take a shot.
Make you stronger and more ripped yes and possibly increase stamina slightly but thats all.
And i still have them both down as being on something last night so its an even field tbh.
