You'd think both Frampton and Galahad would beat him as well. He's had too good of a career to become a gatekeeper for the young guys coming through.

had a great career. prob a bit of an overachiever in a complimentary kind of way. a good honest pro.

For what its worth (not much i know), I still think he could tear galahad a new asshole. When some1 fights them back, a lot of the ingle fighters get on the move and can be exposed as basically front runners.

I never like careers coming to an end as it reminds me how fast time goes. I wish Rendall all the best, a very good pro who, like so many, gave more blood to the game than he took from it in treasure.

I agree that now is the ight time to retire, however I do feel that he was let down by his manager / promoter.

How many boxers go abroad as a big underdog for a proper world title and lose on points, but never get another chance - I still don't get it. I don't get the impression that money would have been a problem for him.

He was badly let down by Hatton (who promised to look after his boxers interest, unlike other promoters. Quite ironic given his own previous promoter got him so many WBU fights at home with Mickey Vann in the middle, before getting Tzsu at the right time, before getting sacked !).

You could be right mate - although getting a European champion a shot at the title away from home in Japan for next to nowt shouldn't be beyond the capabilites of most managers/promoters.

I have never heard a bad word about Munroe, so it seems strange that these actions revealed by Maloney seem to indicate a different character - who knows what went on, but I wouldn't say that "he got what he deserved by jumping ship".

One of my faves in recent years - absolute belting fight he had with Andy Morris (whats happened to Morris by the way).

Some might say he over achieved, I think he could have been a world champion had he not gone the Nikoshia in Japan route. Look how well that guy who he beat (comfortably) in an eliminator is doing now.

Sad it ended the way it done - cannot help but think Rendall knew something was missing in the training camp and maybe shouldn't have taken that last pay day. He didn't seemed suprised about the result and it felt like - post fight - that he had made up his mind about his future BEFORE the rematch.

I know its is not always possible and the pay day is great but I'm not a fan of boxers actually seemingly test if they had or not in front of the public and not in the gym. A bit like Ricky Hatton in the main event, Bob Shannon said he was gutted he never had Ricky when he was younger and his ambition was to have a young Ricky for the future - 48 hours before he was declaring Hatton as better than ever.

People ask my all the time about Monroe quigg frampton I can't say really as never shared the ring with them im not a ex boxers who say i could of beaten him best in the super bantam s is frampton

i dont think the current rendall munroe would beat galahad, barry is too slick and elusive, rendall is ok if you stand in front of him, barry wont be doing that for no one!!... hit but dont be hit is the motto.

I am loving the quigg, frampton and galahad trilogy that is building up, all have had different types of opponents, certainly if they all carry on winning then there are some lucrative fights out there for them all over the next 2 years. to me... quigg seems the cream of the crop at the moment, but i am mainly using the fact that he mullered rendall in a couple of rounds, but im remembering rendall as was, not as is.

so..we may be getting hoodwinked a little by quigg. we are certainly being hoodwinked a bit by frampton as the mcguigan connection brings lots of propaganda, galahad on the other hand is the most unknown quantity, but... he may be the dark horse of the 3.

Well said. I remember the first Martinez fight like it was last week can't believe it was over 4 years ago. Hope he sticks by his decision all the best to him.

I like Munroe and thought he always gave a good account of himself - Seemed very much to be a fans favorite.

He can go out with his head held high as a credit to the sport.

I wish him well in whatever he may choose to do next - Don't think this will be the last we will see of him somehow
