What is the story behind these to guys falling out? Heard Bomber did something but never heard exactly what. Johnny nelson mentions it in his biography but does not mention any details. Anyone know?

If I remember correctly it was regarding a signing on payment from Barney Eastwood. Ingle wanted some of the cash action and Herol didn't want to give it him. I hope I'm not misrepresenting that. It was definitely moolah and Eastwood related.
They met up again on a local BBC show about a decade ago. It looked awkward.

My understanding is that Ingle received £75k for signing over the rights to Bomber Graham and Graham wanted a piece of it. It is talked about on the documentary made about them called "Bomber and Brendan"

In Johnny Nelson's book there's plenty on the fall out between them.
Ingle going home not long after the Jackson KO loss didn't go down too well, when Herol was still in hospital... the issue over the contract... all sorts really.

There always has to be a saint and a sinner, often things are more nuanced; there are boxers who don't give a monkeys and there are managers who do very well out of other people taking the punishment. Bomber is still grafting away trying to earn a crust, he's made mistakes, some of them are well documented. How many houses does Brendan own and let out? 40 - 50 or more now? There are no saints in that story or in any of the other ones in boxing.

But some, if not exactly saints, are more sinned against.

He used to own one that he let out. I don't know if he still owns it.

Those that have known him for years are rallying round to do what we can.
He's living darn sarf now but we often get him up here.
Back again in Jan got a bit of a signing session organised for him.

The Ingles have a bit of a reputation, I just think they're shrewd. That's not to say I don't agree with your concluding sentence.

Everyone in boxing has a reputation, personally i take people as i find them and i consider the ingles to be a good bunch. Always seems strange to me how boxers are not really interested in how much the trainer gets until they are earning big money.
ie.....
Bredan would train a fighter....invest a lot of time, that fighter back in the day would get £400 for a bout and Brendan would get £40 for hundreds of hours work with that fighter. The fighter would not think twice about the trainer getting his 10%
Suddenly a fighter gets onto the marquee stage, earns £800,000 for a fight, Brendan of course would rightfully expect, as per contract (signed by fighter and trainer), his 10%...........£80,000...... again for hundreds of hours work.
But lets get this straight, for every fighter that reaches world/marquee status, there are litterally hundreds that dont, thats a lot of non paid but soulfully invested time from the trainer over many years hoping that a kid reaches the top. not many do.
Suddenly the fighter is heard to be chirping..... 'its not him taking the punches in there'..... etc etc
I know whose side Im on, and its normally the big time charlie fighters that develop a money issue and not the trainer, the trainer just wants what is rightfully his as per contract.
The 'does the fighter make the trainer or the trainer makes the fighter' arguament lingers on.

Agree 100%. Brendan and his lads have been in the game for years and I think they deserve everything they get out of it. I've heard numerous people suggest they are greedy and in the game for the money, etc... like it's a negative thing. I put it down to jealousy. It's professional boxing, you're supposed to make money (or at least try!). Their success is a result of canniness and a lot of hard work.
@SOUTHPAW, the answer to your question is in my answer above.

Excellent post. This is why I was getting the hump with how Adam Smith went about interviewing Naz and Brendan in the documentary piece in the other thread, Smith seemed to almost be insinuating that Brendan didn't deserve to be taking 10%. I felt like thumping my fist through the screen.

Sorry mate but his post is nonsense. He's inferring that Brendan got rich off Bomber's back. Bomber has had some lovely houses in Sheffield - is it Brendan's fault how Bomber invested or lent his money?
As for grafting away - Brendan is 72 and in the gym at 6.45 in the morning and still there at 7 at night. The 40 or 50 houses quote is pure lies.

Like I said, I think the Ingle's are shrewd and have worked hard for what they've got. I like them. There are no saints in boxing, though.

Like I said - Bomber is no saint and neither is he the sinner - it is easy to imagine that Ingle does no wrong and is utterly selfless; again; that would not be the truth. There is no denying that Brendan Ingle has worked very hard for years and there is no disputing that he has been paid well for his work. A few of the boxers that leave the stable have issues over money (not only the very famous ones) and that is a matter of record. Ingle has had more that one successful boxer to earn from - not just Graham.

You mean amateurs? Do they not pay gym dues? If they did then the Ingles weren't out of pocket and get good press; if they don't then the professionals, (journeymen and champions) paid their way. I've no axe to grind - the Ingles have done some great stuff and helped a lot of people - they have not done it out of their charitable hearts though - it has benefited them as well and there are not many of the boxers done as well out of it.
