Hopkins vs Clev' in 2013
Hopkins vs Clev' in 2013
Oscar is going to make Hopkins vs Cleverly in 2013. It's stone-cold mental when you think about it. Who wins?
Re: Hopkins vs Clev' in 2013
Could be the end of Bhop. He wont be able to hurt Cleverley and I feel he'll just be outworked. Still, you can never count the old man out and he'll find ways to expose every flaw that Cleverley brings. I just don't see him having much left. 116 - 112/ 115 -113.
Re: Hopkins vs Clev' in 2013
If B-Hop is 70% of the fighter who beat Pascal he wins.

Cleverly will not fight anyone of this standard for years yet
Re: Hopkins vs Clev' in 2013
It will be a narrow points decision which could go either way. A lot for me depends on where the fight is held as home advantage could be decisive. I'll be backing Hopkins though as I imagine the bookies will have Cleverly as favourite.
Re: Hopkins vs Clev' in 2013
I think that Clev scores the upset.
Re: Hopkins vs Clev' in 2013
An upset? NC should beat BH no problem.crusader wrote:I think that Clev scores the upset.

I agree with JDC. Cleverly is beatable, it will just be by somebody with more power than BHopJDC wrote:Could be the end of Bhop. He wont be able to hurt Cleverley and I feel he'll just be outworked. Re: Hopkins vs Clev' in 2013
Will it be an 'upset' if Cleverly wins? Despite Hopkins name and past achievements he is regarded as past his best and Cleverly will surely start as favourite?
Re: Hopkins vs Clev' in 2013
Maybe, but from what I've gleaned from various sources (forums, articles, etc) a large majority of people think that Hopkins will win. Hopkins is also a much bigger name, which might help sway the odds in his favor.

Nathan will beat BH.crusader wrote:Maybe, but from what I've gleaned from various sources (forums, articles, etc) a large majority of people think that Hopkins will win. Hopkins is also a much bigger name, which might help sway the odds in his favor.
Re: Hopkins vs Clev' in 2013
Who knows? Oscar has stated that both camps want the match and serious negotiations are under way. I think Oscar genuinely likes Nathan. When you think about it, Nathan's a photogenic, genial sort of lad who could be a bit of a hit Stateside. It'll probably all come down to options. If I were FW, I'd look to palm off Cleverly onto GBP with some sort of career duration percentage of earnings agreement.Camcas wrote:Cleverly will not fight anyone of this standard for years yet

He is younger, faster takes a good punch has a great engine and IMHO will be too much for BH at this stage of his career.Riddick Blowe wrote:Based on what exactly?taffytoon wrote:Nathan will beat BH.crusader wrote:Maybe, but from what I've gleaned from various sources (forums, articles, etc) a large majority of people think that Hopkins will win. Re: Hopkins vs Clev' in 2013
60% of Hopkkns should be enough, NC scraped home against Bellew, and Hopkins is an ATG. I'd back Hopkins in this.

FFS Hopkins will be 48 if they fight next year.
I am mildly embarrassed by this fight.
I absolutely love the Exectutioner, but to face up to him losing to Cleverly - which he will - leaves me cold.
Hope it never takes place.

I'd love to see the excuses now it has been announced that Hopkins is fighting Cloud 9th March at that new stadium in Brooklyn.
I take it the Welshman's devastating recent series of wins over... er.... um.... Anyway, whoever they were over, they've scared off Bernard, that's for sure...
I also think it's disgraceful that Hopkins is ducking a proven warrior like Cleverly & cherry-picking a man with twice the resume & achievements.

Will Hopkins get a licence in the UK at his age?
If so, even 50% of him is enough to handle Nathan Cleverly. Nathan has to be one of the WBO's worst comedy titlists ever. His opponents rival those of Herbie Hide, and of course Joe Calzaghe's reign of terror over the dustbin men of Europe and South America.

Edit: I forgot about DLH!
Re: Hopkins vs Clev' in 2013
I keep on reading b hop can't punch!
Seriously!!
I don't want to see him face an old man who wants to tie him up use his head & make it a bore fest showing clev up as a light puncher on the world stage. I'd rather see clev face pascal,Dawson, ward, cloud

Re: Hopkins vs Clev' in 2013
There's more of the Enzo Macca about Cleverly than there is Joe Calzaghe.
Remember how comically out of place Macca looked and performed on the truly big stage, vs David Haye? He looked exactly like what he was, a clubfighter fed a diet of stiffs, passed off as a 'world champion' by the WBO.
Hopkins might be 100, but he will find out Cleverly.
