I was in a boozer in West Norwood the other night, and I met Lou Gent's dad - and I swear to god he was the absolute spit of Brick top from lock stock - he even sounded exactly like him.

He was 70, but looked a right tough nut- friendly like - but i reckon he could still have a tear up - in fact his mate who was 68 said to me 'I might be old son, but I could still have a straightner with you if I have to.'

lou has got a farm in swaffham and does not bother with boxing anymore,i know a fella who knows him very well and he said he asked lou if he would like to go to a ex boxing dinner and he declined as said got no interest anymore,but yea he was a tuff fighter in his day

Didn't he go from a cruiser down to super-middle while he was in the pro ranks? Edit. Just checked his record and he did indeed - not too many who go that way round and go from fighting Johnny Nelson to Nigel Benn!

Good pub actually, a little tasty around the edges, but actually pretty friendly, provided youre not a shrinking violet.
