From Chicago. Had to be one of the best amateurs ever with a 343-2 record but only a brief pro career. Anybody know anything about him? Before my time. I haven't heard him discussed much in Chicago boxing circles. Most likely because he fought just after WW2

That's an amazing record...and correct me if I'm wrong, but back in those days they didn't wear Headgear in the amateurs right? How many stoppages amongst his 343 wins?

I'm not sure how many kos he had. I'm curious about that. I will see if I can find that out. Headgear wasn't mandatory in the ams till around the early eighties I think.
