Hermanos Maristas Sports Pavillion - Segovia, Castilla y Leon, Spain

WBC Light Welterweight Champion

** WBC - Miguel Velazquez ~ 66-3-3 (33 KO's) ~ 139 1/2 lbs.
vs.
#1 WBC - Saensak Muangsurin ~ 5-1-0 (4 KO's) ~ 140 lbs.

This a rematch of the 'controversial' bout held back on July 30, 1976 in Madrid.

The 32 year-old Champion from Spain, is again a 'heavy underdog', and his only hope is to use his
slick boxing skills to jab and back-pedal, and occassionally stopping to fire a quick one-two then
move out of harm's way.

The 26 year-old Challenger from Thailand wants to get this over with quick, and remove any doubt of
a possible late-punch or irregular punch controversy, which could result in another Disqualification.

The location of this bout is in a Sports Pavillion at a religous school in the Castilian City of Castilla y Leon,
where approximately 5000 Spaniards will attend.

The Spanish Press labels Saensak as; 'La Sombra del Diablo, 'Chino Ese' le Hipnotizaba, and 'unmerciful' before
the bout.

The Fight,

Round 1 - The Champion true to his word moves quickly, and fires quick one-two's at the Challenger, before
back-pedalling away. Saensak slowly moves forward, sliding each foot forward about 12", before re-setting.
Miguel scores again with light left jabs and quick rights, then scampers back away from Saensak's awesome
power.

Round 2 - The Challenger comes out of his corner fast, with intentions of ending it now. A flurry of rights and
lefts to the body and head, drops the Champion at the (0:24 Mark). After taking the '8-Count', Velazquez is met
with another barrage, and is dropped by a right-left to the head.

Referee - Jimmy Dunn asks the Champion if he wants to continue, and acknowledges with a Si'. Saensak moves
in as Velazquez attempts to back-pedal, but the Thai-fighter lands a hard right hook and a short left hook to the
body that wobbles Velazquez. Another 5-Punch attack drops the Champion a '3rd-Time'. One more time the Champion
rises, and again takes the '8-Count'. As action resumes, Saensak tears into his over-matched opponent and bombards
punches on the Spaniard who falls again, where upon Referee - Jimmy Dunn stops the bout.

Scorecards;
* Referee - Jimmy Dunn...10-9 (Miguel Velazquez)
* Judge - (Germany)........10-9 (Miguel Velazquez)
* Judge - (Italy)..............10-9 (Miguel Velazquez)

The WBC mandates that the Champion face the now #1 WBC Challenger - American - Monroe Brooks within
90-Days.
TKO2...just like Norris/Santana III.
