Saturday fight night

Does anyone else think that Sky have become too intent on having a bill each Saturday night. A lot of the bill topping fights most weeks are barely what I would consider chief supporting contest quality. Less bills better quality I say I don't even watch half the dross these days, a few years ago you couldn't get me out of the house if there was boxing on.

Come on Sky keep me out of the pub.

Got to have some British boxing every weekend mate! Having said that some fights I don't care if I miss the live show, recent examples being Skelton v Francis (who the hell could get excited about that??) and Williams v McKeever.

Yeah must admit i've been in that position a few times about fights lately but i think it is a bit snobbish to deny the lads there chance in the spotlight and fight nights with williams-mckeever and robinson-booth topping the bill can't hurt.

While it's true that the likes of Williams/McKeever & Booth/Robinson might not be exactly glamour fights, both nights I considered going out, bothtimes I stayed in, and both nights I was rewarded with an cracking fight.

and to be fair very often they put on the best shows hey!
I mean how many times have you missed a fight and then heard later it was a barnstormer!
Especially with my video taping skills if I ever havve to watch any more f*cking cycling when I think Ive taped the fights on channel five Im gonna go mad haha........

I agree about the top of the bill thing, but it is nice to sit down on a saturday and watch a bit of boxing.

Ok it doesn't always involve the big names, but as mickeybeard has said, there has been some corkers that in all likelyhood we would never of seen if they had been stuck on a 10 fight super card.

There have been some good fights granted, but this saturday we have Arthur against a guy who I believe is a former bantamweight. Now that is dross.

McKeever vs Williams was originally an undecard fight.

that is true. Its not like they are showcasing Alex is it, I mean he has been around long enough to be well known.
Its not particularly awe inspiring I shall be taping it and watching the rugby.

I watched all the fights mentioned above, they were genuine matches and hard fights to pick. What I was getting at was mismatches and one sided fight cards, Arthur v Kizza is not a main event by any stretch of the imagination.
