Unbelievable! Makes the IBF look a bit of laughing stock for not stripping him after his first breach......

Doesnt just make the IBF look like a laughing stock it makes the whole of boxing look like a laughing stock. Imagine a neutral fan reading this.

SO Peterson tested positive for drugs against Khan what happened to him?

He had his WBA belt stripped and faced a small period of inactivity

So is he still fighting?

Yes and he is still a "world" champion

So he has essentially not had any penalty or loss of earnings despite the fact that he is a confirmed drugs cheat?

No

Another ban and he will be back in the ring before we know it. Only in boxing.

This is probably what he will get but realistically it should be a lifetime ban.

I hope he's given a harsher ban than Dillian Whyte. Not to get too Animal Farm over this but surely some offenders are more guilty than others.

The original article implicated Peterson as having tested positive for a banned substance. The updated article doesn't really say an awful lot.

Nice to see boxing delivering outside the ring, we've got Peterson testing positive for a woman's fertility drug (restarts your nads working after you've worn them out 'roiding, apparently), then it's Holt testing positive, then Robert fuckin' Guerrero decides to take a gun on the plane.

I blame George Groves.

Gabriel Montoya is saying its Holt, and not Peterson. The Ring article has been taken down. But Holt is saying his tests were negative.

Maybe they should just both dope themselves up and have a rematch.

To decipher the goings on into some sort of layman's term that I could comprehend, I resorted to a William S Burroughs cut and paste technique.Resulting in;

"Nice to see Robert Guerrero working George Groves nads outside the ring,

Am I closer to the truth?

The boxing 'authorities' (I use the word loosely) are completely farcical when it comes to drugs. One of the problems is that there are so many different regulatory bodies, there's no unilateral sanctions/punishment etc.

The Morales situation is even worse than Peterson. He gets caught the week of a fight. For this, he has received a 2 year ban from USADA. Why the hell, then, was he allowed to fight AFTER being caught??!?!? Crazy world. And to top it off, he will blatantly disregard his punishment and just continue fighting in Mexico.

It's this sort of nonsense that does the sport no favours.

USADA has no authority over boxing in America. The local commission is the governing authority, they can and did ignore the usada. The suspension of Morales is a nice gesture but they can't back it up.
