Re: Best fight you have seen live.
The best fight live had to be Danny Williams v Audley Harrison II.
It was the best as we were expecting Harrison v Skelton but Matt pulled out injuried two weeks before the fight. Danny stepped in and as he was training for the British HW title at the time came in.
It was the best live fight I have seen as I was expecting a dullfest, it was a miserable day as the weather was cold and wet, there were train delays getting to the London docklands, and worst thing was the pub we had targetted to for pre fight drinkies had closed down three months previous to our horror when we rocked up.
We reached the venue and the undercard fights were dullfests, Amir Khan has been unconvincing and a young upstart called Kell Brook has provided a little sunshine when a devestating piece of skill for a huge KO on his opponent. Aud and Danny entered the ring for the main event and when the bell went I witnessed the finest piece of boxing from Audley I had ever seen by any HW in the UK (lennox included). He came in and actually went for it instead of his rabbit in headlights impression!
Audley in that 9 minutes proved that he could live up to the hype he give himself. Crisp, aggressive tall southpaw jabbing the head off Williams and the best uppercut I have seen Live. It was the only time I have seen Audley actually look like a pro with a chance to be the best in the world. If you want to learn how to fight southpaw watch this fight on you tube (you can see me at one stage). It was the only time Aud looked the part, and I was there to witness it.

John Cotterill Jr vs Allan Luxford, Fkn great fight that one.
Re: Best fight you have seen live.
Lou Cafaro vs Craig Trotter, Australian Middleweight Title Perth.
Great back and forth battle with dramatic momentun swings
Lou Cafaro vs Rod Carr, Commonwealth Super Middleweight Title Perth.
That wasn't to shabby either, big shots from both fighters.

Re: Best fight you have seen live.
Geez there's a name...Lou Cafaro. I read an interview in the old Fighter mag in the mid 80's with Lou. He said something like..."if I'd kept doing those armed robberies I wouldn't be in these magazines or nothin"
Re: Best fight you have seen live.
Butterbean vs Baden Oui
Re: Best fight you have seen live.
I see he's fighting Kirk Lawton in Newcastle in June. You'll be able to see your hero one more time. :PDa Voice wrote:Butterbean vs Baden Oui

Re: Best fight you have seen live.
Ryan Rhodes -v- Jamie Moore - Stunning fight with 2 warriors not willing to give an inch.
Re: Best fight you have seen live.
On a serious note Danny McGrail vs Marks, Patterson & Miller were nothing short of absolute gems
Re: Best fight you have seen live.
No doubt there are a few that i dont recall straight off the top of my head, but Loporto v Bryant, Green v Delisle, Green v Wlod and a card from 1991 which included Dean Waters, shane Riley, Lou cafaro and Tony Miller against a team from Russia at Challenge Stadium in Perth. I think riley was the only Australian to win. I recall being in awe of the russians but never hearing of them again.
Re: Best fight you have seen live.
Tony 'mad dog' Miller V Paul Ferreri for the featherweight title in 1986. A close fight but Miller beat Ferreri fair and square. Ferreri was well past his best but you could see the experience he'd acquired over a long period in the little things he did, whether it be to get off the ropes or tie Miller up when necessary
Was gonna mention Fenech - Nelson II but thought better of it. That was a crap one sided thrashing

Vazquez-Marquez I was right up there
Re: Best fight you have seen live.
Green vs Wlod was entertaining, but I got the most satisfaction watching Geale smack Mundine around a little.
Re: Best fight you have seen live.
That fight as a cracker. Would have been great to see it live.Monty wrote:Vazquez-Marquez I was right up there
