Valero/Guzman at super feather.
Valero/Guzman at super feather.
These two held belts at the same time but never fought. Interesting style contrast. Who takes it?
Re: Valero/Guzman at super feather.
You mean Joan Guzman I assume? I think he'd take a Unanimous Decision over Valero
Re: Valero/Guzman at super feather.
Valero had more substance than he's given credit for and at super feather I'd have to say hurts Guzmans chances here . Valero KO 9

Yeah, I meant Joan. (I don't know of any other top super feathers named Guzman.)gilgamesh wrote:You mean Joan Guzman I assume? I think he'd take a Unanimous Decision over Valero
I said in my first sentence that "[t]hese two held belts at the same time".
I agree on your pick also.

I really couldn't stand either of them, tbh.
One was a protected murdering scumbag & the other was an overweight dude who could bore you to death.
I would be crossing my fingers hoping for a double KO.

If by protected you mean not able to fight in the US for years due to injury then I agree .Datsue wrote:I really couldn't stand either of them, tbh.

I didn't detest Valero during his career--only after he'd murdered his wife.Datsue wrote:I really couldn't stand either of them, tbh.

No, I meant that Mosquera & De Marco aside, you'd not trust anyone else he ever fought to tie up their own shoelaces, let alone fight back. The End wrote:If by protected you mean not able to fight in the US for years due to injury then I agree .Datsue wrote:I really couldn't stand either of them, tbh.

I regarded him as something of a running gag when he was fighting, due to the innernetz fanboys declaring he'd do Marquez, Pacquiao & Casamayor on the same night... & then he'd go fight Hector Velazquez or Antonio Pitalua.
He benefited from the same soft-arse matchmaking that fellow Venezuelan Teiken dude Jorge "Don't hit me--I'm pretty!" Linares got, & Rover knows how I feel about him.

Ah, I am well aware of your dislike for Linares.Datsue wrote:No, I meant that Mosquera & De Marco aside, you'd not trust anyone else he ever fought to tie up their own shoelaces, let alone fight back. The End wrote:If by protected you mean not able to fight in the US for years due to injury then I agree .Datsue wrote:I really couldn't stand either of them, tbh.
