Incorrect scorecards for Matthysse-Soto

Post by marcianofan »

I am 99% sure that the scorecards for Lucas Matthysse- Humberto Soto fight were entered wrong. The way they are listed, they appear to indicate that Barry Druxman and Alejandro Rochin both had Soto up at the time of the stoppage. My saved scorecard from the fight, based on the Showtime graphics and commentary, notes that I thought Druxman had it a bit too close, and that that Rochin had it just right, where I had scored the fight 49-45 Matthysse. In addition, a 49-45 score in Soto's favor would have been nearly impossible to reach considering the knockdown he suffered in the 5th. Outside of the unlikely event that Rochin thought Soto otherwise won round 5, Soto could not have earned more than 48 points under the most favorable of interpretations. Obviously you'll want to verify that either I or Showtime didn't vastly misinterpret what our eyes saw, but I'm pretty confident that it's Boxrec that has it wrong.
