Why Chris Byrd? Fireman Jim Flynn would be more interesting.

No one has started that thread yet....and I can't imagine why.

Ok...seriously. I'm thinking Byrd would evade Corrie better than he evaded Ibeabuchi......and manage NOT to be KO'd....so he'd win a mid range decision. Not all that close, but maybe not a total lopsided affair. Maybe Corrie would strain his rotator cuff as well. So he might have to sit out early.

Why 8 rounds? Chris by decision.

Corrie's offence would push Bryd into his shell in the opening rounds. If Corrie grits his teeth he could take an 8 round decision if he missed the stoppage. Potentially over 12 it could have swung Chris's way.

I love that somebody had to make it an 8 rounder in the hopes that it somehow gives Sanders a better chance of winning

If it were a 4 rounder that strategy may have worked. I think over 8 rounds Chris wins at least 5 of them. Over 12 rounds it becomes a rather easy victory for him.

Oh, you don't think The Sniper would have made it out of the 1st?

13 of his fights, or about 1 in 3 (30%) went past 4 rounds.

He won 11 of those, 10 of those by unanimous decision, the other by 6th round tko.

Completely irrelevant, due to your lack of qualifying criteria.

You said he was the King of Four Rounders.

I've just politely pointed out that he went past 4 rounds 13 times, winning 11.

This is an 85% win ratio past round 4, thus nullifying your "King of Four Rounders" epitaph. :TU:

And Sanders beat no one of note past four, which was *my* point which I politely pointed out. Cite all the stats you want; it's called quality, not quantity.

Hmmm Neither I nor Kaiser saw the "additional criteria" I guess.

The line on Sanders has been that he fades later if he doesn't get the upper level fighters out early. He had nothing left after a few rounds with Rahman and Vitali. He got Wlad out early. He was devastating for a few rounds but not later.
The statement was made in jest, but he was a fader.

He was WELL past his best when he beat Wlad. And everyone is using that fight to assess what was a very long career. Check out the Johnny Dup on you tube.

I'd prefer a higher caliber opponent to evaluate him on.
