Duce, can I just ask you two questions?

First is, where do you get the majority of your info from? Google docs?

Second is, why do you continually put words like 'vacant' and 'stripped' in single quotes?

The Fight,

Referee- Harry Gibbs was the 'sole official'.

John Conteh had 'decent Round 1, as he utilized his long and lethal left jab, and scored with precise jabs.

But, Jorge Ahumada bulled forward in Round 2, and showed off his incredible strength, while scoring with
several hard left hooks to the body, and a couple of right-hand smashes.

Picking up the action in Round 3, Conteh started using his 'rapid-fire' left jabs, and 3" reach advantage to
keep the 'burly' Argentinian outside. John realized the best way to fend off Ahumuda, was to box and dodge, and
not trade with the heavier-fisted Argentinian.

In Rounds 4, 5 and 6 - Conteh was precise with his left jab, and backed it up with 'double-hits' to keep Ahumada
off balance. Each time that the Argentinina attacked, John would dodge and counter with a quick left hook / straight
right hand.

Behind on Points entering Round 7, Ahumuda stepped up his pace, and was able to get closer to Conteh. When close,
Ahumada started to use his hard left hooks to the body, and then brought a few left hooks up to John's head. Ahumada had
stemmed the tide of the bout, and changed the flow of the fight with some good punches late in Round 7.

John Conteh was now in a fight.

Thru 7-Rounds, the Scorecard was 4-2-1 in John Conteh's favor.

If Gibbs was the sole official, why does Boxrec list this as an SD?

Wow, we gripe about today's crappy scoring by judges. Imagine being a contender and having to go to your opponent's country and the ref and sole judge is one of your opponent's locals refs. Not saying the scoring was bad in this fight per se, but that's a hell of a burden

Jorge Ahumada asked the WBC to grant him a rematch with John Conteh, and within 90-Days.

John Conteh was not that all excited about giving the tough Argentinian an immediate rematch.
