Is Fury Ducking Haye With ludicrous 80% purse?

Post by ajwesty13 »

With the talks stalling with Fury demands of 80% purse with Haye... just makes me feel that this is Fury way of pricing himself out of fight with Haye... If he wanted to fight Haye as much as he says he does then he wouldn't mind 50 - 50 split with an Ex World Champion....

Here is the Sky News Interview ...

Thoughts?

I think Fury is very clever trying to get as much money as possible before the bubble bursts. He knows this himself thats why he calls everyone out, making comments thats pricking up the ears of the British public. H'es making everyone belive he is the man in heavyweight boxing, hes trying to make as much as possble. Fury will be over within 1 year 2 at the most.

I was wondering that myself ... it reminds of boxers like danny garcia who would rather fight has beens to stretch out the purse strings as they know there time out the top would be limited... if he did fight haye then IMHO he would struggle massively and i could only see a win for haye.. then what for fury's career?

He'd pick himself up, dust himself down and start again like 99% of the boxers that lose in their careers do, like Price is doing, Haye has had to come back from losses. If Fury lost in a good fight that he acquitted himself well in then his stock would rise; if he got blown out he could come again. It wouldn't be the end of the world and he'd have earned a lot of money for the family.

I agree that his career would still be afloat if he loses to haye as long as he puts in a good performance.. but as long as i am being tenuous i can see Fury being another Harrison who talks a better fight than he can muster...

Every comment these days is said to be possibly racist ! Fed up of it, and people who ask the questions are potentially the sh*t stirrers !

British boxing is such that Harrrison continued to earn well after some awful losses; I don't think Fury would beat Haye or even go the distance but I don't see him freaking out and losing his nerve before the bout or losing his bottle in the bout. If he gets beat he'll be trying hard; he does talk a good fight and that's part of the game, Haye has been known to talk a bout up and not deliver himself and it's not been the end of him.

There's a popular thread about a Fury comment that has more than a few crying; it don't bother me one bit.

As soon as Fury loses, everyone will want him and more or likely chin him too. Thats why he's trying to get rich quick, he knows it, his management know it and we all know it, simples

Agreed that Harrison earnt money well above his talent ... i think that's probably what will happen to Fury talking up purses

i will disagree and say Fury bottle usually goes well before the fight... as it appears he ducked the likes of Price, Pulev and now it seems as you can put Haye on that list. Yes Haye does talk himself up but usually its to make the fight happen or the fight is already happening and then its just mind games...

Most boxers lose and fight on with varying success; they are professionals so want to earn as much as possible, one way of doing that is to get noticed by a lot of people. Fury will lose at some stage and it will probably affect him but he will most likely fight on and win some and lose some. If he gets chinned by Haye it doesn't mean that there are then loads of boxers can do the same. At world level there are the Klitskos, Povetkin, Haye and then who else? Most of them are skilled and heavy handed but don't have a prayer of getting to the top and are anonymous. Fury is in this group but is making noise to stand out from the pack - I can't see where the dislike comes from; he's in a hard sport and doing what he can to improve his lot.

As soon as a race or culture is used in a sentence it's replied to as being racist ?
