Verification needed;
Did Knox really fight as a middleweight in a bout listed for 1940-08-09, against JP Spencer?
His other bouts that summer was as a heavyweight.
Also; RRB 1947 lists Knox against Carl Vinciquerra that date in Omaha, NE

No! Knox was weighing in right at 200 at that point in his career.

Thanks Barry, I thought so and moved the bout to Jimmy Knox's record. However, I'm not sure Jimmy was the right opponent either.

What was the source for the bout and where did the weights come from?

Most likely a Ring Mag report, will look it up!
Tout'd'suit!
The Ring, Nov. 1940;
"Two negroes, J.D. Spencer, 160, and Buddy Knox, 165, drew in a six-rounder that opened the card".
I don't know if this looks good for Jimmy Knox?

I'd create a separate Buddy Knox. (the heavyweight Knox was white by the way)

Are you sure he didn't invent that "Michael Jackson trick"?
