Matchroom Announcement??

Post by TJ77 »

Still no news on Brooks next opponent ?
Kell comes in for rakes of Flack not helped by his promoter's making statements and not delivering.

Anyone got any real clue ?

a guy in my work came in and says " i see there talking about Broner for Brook "

Just shows you that these ty[pe of Rumours generate talk and then im pretty sure when its announced will be dissapointing.

Chris Van Heerden was a chant which to be honest is a joke if its a Major Name

Eddie Hearn ‏@EddieHearn 5m

So next week looks like this.. On Tuesday we will announce a MASSIVE domestic fight..
On Wednesday we will hold a press conference in Sheffield to announce @SpecialKBrook next fight and full details of the show
Expand
And on Thursday we will round it all off in style with one MAJOR announcement at a press conference in London #bigweek

Think your spot on with 2 of the 3. Maidana will fight for the full title so it's not going to be him.

Its frustrating all this to quote fast car Eddie"leave a bit of bread in the fish's mouth"bollocks.
If you say this week mean this week.
Fingers crossed its Maidana .
Kell in shape which he will be deals with him comfortably.
Froch Groves is not a massive fight IMO.
Be a decent domestic battle but will need major hyping for Ppv.

Why have one presser (and one photo opportunity) when you can have 3 !

Not to mention the announcement that there will be an announcement ....... to be fair though, he could teach a couple of the more established promoters a few things about social media as one thing is for sure, it aint going away and is likely to become a more important medium in the future.

It gets people talking though. Look how many are guessing Brooks opponent. If there's been a glitch in venue/date he's 100% right not to announce it yet. Warren has announced loads of false shows and rightly gets stick for it

Because it is a big decision for Joshua to make and he wants to make absolutely sure he is making the right choice. When you make lifechanging decisions do you just go 'bah fornicate it I'll go with that one, what's the worst that can happen?'

It won't be Maidana since he's more or less mandatory for Broner, it would take huge money to get him over.

In his Sky Sports column this week, Eddie writes:

All I can say is Shane Mosley, Robert Guerrero, Vyashaslev Senchenko, Chris Van Heerden and Josesito Lopez have all been slung in to the mix and it will be one of them.

If its Senchenko or Van Heerden I'd be really disappointed TBH. Lopez is not to shabby although he is on a losing streak. Guerrero I very much doubt it......

Mosley seems to be off Down Under to fight Mundine, Guerrero won't travel, Senchenko would have to cancel his fight in Ukraine next month. Van Heerden and Lopez aren't at the level Kell is looking to be at.

If it is one of those honestly I have no issue with any of them.

Eddie has announced it is a big name for September and people are immediately assuming it's a huge name when lets be honest the very biggest names aren't going to fight at about 9 weeks notice away from home for a non World title fight. All those names are the kind of names that World class fighters would beat (with the exception of Guerrero whos probably a bit better.)

I think it is exactly that, but Senchenko or could there be another massive domestic fight?

Senchenko is probably the biggest of the lot to the casuals, which is who they will be targeting.

How can you class him as a big name though?! He's a guy that got his head boxed off my Malignaggi and was actually stopped by him : / .... and he beat a completely shot Ricky Hatton who hadnt fought in 3 and a half years!

He doesn't lie down though, he doesn't go to pieces when he doesn't have it all his own way; he'd be a good fight. Carson broke (or bust) Brooks' nose x2; he has to get in with these people regularly.
