Chisora Vs Mcdermott that would be a decent fight?

Post by TopGun »

Anyone else agree? Someone I spoke to thought it would be a crap fight but I thought their styles would make it an old school tear up. One I'd love to see although probably won't happen as Chisora is on a bigger stage.

I still think McDermott is very underrated fighter who has great technical ability. I hope Big John gets to win the British title before he calls it a day.

Chisora is too good for Mcdermott also Mcdermott is very inactive which I don't understand.

Whilst Chisora will be looking to bigger and better things, I wouldn't bet my life savings on him beating McDermott or Audley

It's a good fight. Mentally they're both fairly erratic characters so you wouldn't be sure which version of which will be turning up. Would John's nerve hold up? Would Del boy be motivated enough? I'd take Del to win clearly in a competitive fight though.

Chisora would beat Audley without breaking sweat, man. Audley couldn't beat up Del Boy with a baseball bat.

McDermott - Chisora would be more competitive, but ultimately John, as much as I respect his endurance and technical ability, would always come up short.

Endurance! Look at the size of him.

Are we talking about the same John McDermott?

He was completely exausted in the Fury rematch and that only went 9 rounds.

It was boiling hot to be fair and both looked tired. He looked fine against Skelton last time out.

McDermott is not mentally tough enough to deal with a fight with Chisora. A solid right hand and he will be bowled over.

Not a good match-up IMO.

Chisora is not a big puncher particularly; I don't think he'd blow McDermott away. If McDermott had been given the decision he deserved against Fury first time out, this wouldn't look so daft. He gave Fury at least as tough a night as Del Boy, the first time.

The 1st fight was a win for McDermott, absolute scandal. Ask Maloney's heart about it.

Hard one to get excited about. Chisora isn't as world class as people make out, but he has been British Champion and is being touted as European title challenger.

What would he fight somebody like McDermott? What does McDermott bring to the table? Nothing much. McDermott should be fighting people like Audley, Skelton, Sexton. That's his level. (Ie. Mediocre domestic level.)

McDermott knocked Sam Sexton out in sparring last year. I think he's a little above that level, too.

Er Skelton? Price? OK John did well against fury a few years back when fury was fat and clueless but I can't see an argument for big bad John being anything but domestic level. I hope he wins the British one day though.

The only problem I have with Mcdermott is his inactivity if he doesn't fight he won't win anything.

What about the fact that he never comes into the ring in great shape?

:-? He does Perfectly Round :OhYes:

Na John is a Great Fighter and imo Beats most (except Haye) if he was fit like the 1st Fury fight and he's mine didn't play games with him..
Since leaving his trainer CJ Hussin he aint done as good as he could have.. In the 2nd Fury fight both of them was Blowing after 3 rounds, if he had been as fit as the 1st one he woud of had Fury out of there's within 5 rounds.. Heard today he is with a New trainer again, hopefully this brings out the best in John....

Is this John MacciD who got assassinated by David Price in one round..
I'd rather see Chisora take on another yank like Wilder, Seth Mitchell
