He needs one more win to keep the British outright pal and he still makes sf easy so I can't agree with you if he got cut or injured he'd be out of the November fight and he's been waiting nearly two years for a chance again

Sykes is a really good boxer who is always in good shape for a distance fight; if he can make superfeather OK it would be silly to box Mitchell at lightweight; Kevin is a hard hitting and strong lightweight, particularly v domestic level opposition. I'd like to see Buckland move up a level to Euro and Gary would surely be in the mix - I just think Buckland has his number though Sykes is in with a real shout v just about anyone else - seems a really good fellow as well.

Beating Mitchell would open far more doors than beating Smith/Male/James would do.

He probably would get paid more as well, but that being said if he holds manadate position even if he loses to Mitchell at a higher weight its win-win situation

Mitchell is a much bigger fight for him. Even if he loses he works his way back into british contention. Its a no brained taking this fight

I think we have seen the best of Kevin Mitchell now. Shame as he could have gone far. I wasn't impressed with his last performance even though he won easily.

This is a fight I dont understand! With all the domestic lightweight fighters that Matchroom either promotes or works in partnership with, why do they need to bring a super featherweight in for Mitchell to fight?!

Because Mitchell is a hitter at lightweight and Gary got caught quick by superfeather (not a big banger) Buckland; they maybe want Kevin to look like a destroyer again?

Yeah but to people who know boxing atleast somewhat like us sad bastards on here, we know that him knocking out a super-featherweight who has already been knocked out by a guy that isnt a puncher isnt going to prove anything.

Kevin Mitchell win for me,probably stop him round about the John Murray mark, okay fight for Kevin i think,Garys a good domestic fighter but stepping up with Mitchells a big ask though, people might want to see Mitchell in with somebody more accomplished as would i but it still takes nothing away from the fact that this could be a tasty all action scrap

What was worrying was that had he gone in with someone who could fight I don't think he would have lasted 2 minutes. I'm a big Mitchell fan don't get me wrong, you can see that from old posts but he is on the decline. His defence looked terrible in that fight. I hope I'm wrong but I cannot see him ever winning a world title now, no chance.

Mitchell still beats Sykes even if his recent form isn't as 'good'. Don't forget, his last fight was after a long lay off and with a new promotion so that could of had an effect. I think Mitchell will hit a bit to hard for sykes.
