It's on a GBA show. I wish I could say I was surprised. Early has looked and sounded 'shot' for years. I'm no doctor but I cannot imagine the BBBoC - for all their perceived faults - would have granted him a license.

Does he still think the Katsidis fight over in australia which was muted is going to happen, talking big
money weren't they? back in 2010-11 ish

Re: Graham Earl Oct 4th
Thought Katsidis retired because of issues with a brain scan? Can't see him returning now. Any organization that licenses Earl needs to take a long look at themselves, it's easy to see and hear the effects fighting has already had on him.Bleak wrote:Does he still think the Katsidis fight over in australia which was muted is going to happen, talking big

Re: Graham Earl Oct 4th
I can't imagine it's just about money, Earl always came across as a decent man, I'd have thought that there were people in Luton that admired him and given him a helping hand (decent job etc) if he needed it; Graham was a very good boxer in his day and packing it in must have left a big hole, it may be that he's not found out what else he's good at yet or he needs the routine; it's a shame he doesn't post on here.
Re: Graham Earl Oct 4th
For me Earl starting showing signs of deteriorating 7 years ago and looked shot 5 years ago. Hopefully this doesn't go ahead.

Re: Graham Earl Oct 4th
That's a shame, we all need it though and imagine that Graham has bills to pay and mouths to feed; if he can make more money boxing past his best than in a decent job then he's best placed to make the decision. It is a shame though, I remember Colin Dunne boxing on after his prime, in fact lots of very good fighters but 5 years out is a long time.spudder56 wrote:palooka wrote:I can't imagine it's just about money, Earl always came across as a decent man, I'd have thought that there were people in Luton that admired him and given him a helping hand (decent job etc) if he needed it; Graham was a very good boxer in his day and packing it in must have left a big hole, it may be that he's not found out what else he's good at yet or he needs the routine; it's a shame he doesn't post on here.

If you ain't got no money any money is good money sad but its true just a fact of life but I must admit I fear for Graham's well being
Re: Graham Earl Oct 4th
Made me sigh this did, I can understand the money issue but at the end of the day what use is any amount of money if you cant enjoy it or remember how you got it!. Always liked Earl a lot and wish he would stick to training fighters or something like that because he shouldn't be fighting anymore. There really needs to be more support for exfighters, perhaps some kind of training programme that can help them become mentors or trainers of younger fighters etc.... more needs to be done to stop fighters just drifting into problems when their fighting careers come to an end...

Good money? works out £200 odd a week imo that aint good at all. I think it must of been what you said that he cant just Rest and call it a day...
Re: Graham Earl Oct 4th
Yeah but a grand is better than nothing if you're skint! For all we know he could be really struggling financially.mickey1975 wrote:What, about a grand?columbo wrote:Money most likelyLondonirish wrote:I just spotted that Earl is out again on the 4th of Oct...![]()

Yeah but if you havent done much else aside from boxing and you've got kids to feed and bills to pay then even though that kind of money is shit I imagine it would be alluring!Londonirish wrote:spudder56 wrote:

Re: Graham Earl Oct 4th
I agree, when I weren't working regularly and nothing was going my way there were things that were worse than boxing that seemed to be the best idea in the entire world; needs must be attended to; hope Graham boxes someone he can handle OK in a fair bout and doesn't have to do it for long, that man could boxcolumbo wrote:Yeah but if you havent done much else aside from boxing and you've got kids to feed and bills to pay then even though that kind of money is poo I imagine it would be alluring!Londonirish wrote:spudder56 wrote:

Yeah hopefully he's not thrown in against a really good prospect which is what happens a lot of the time unfortunately.

The problem is Earl can't make it past a round against a live body. Find another job Graham.

I'm sure Graham has got his own Boxing gym, trains boxers and does Manage a few as well so in imo it cant be Money... Think your common is a bit unfair Know he got stopped by Castle and Khan but look at the rest of his record. Not saying he will come back and be a British EBU champion etc but give the man a bit of Respect Look what he has done in Boxing......
Re: Graham Earl Oct 4th
Mark Prince is making his comeback on the same bill.
Re: Graham Earl Oct 4th
That's why people don't want to see him back, he already slurs his words, it's easy to see the effect boxing's had on him. He was taken out early by Castle who, when he was at his best, would have been comfortably dealt with.Londonirish wrote:loaded_gloves wrote:The problem is Earl can't make it past a round against a live body. I just hope and pray that neither Mark or Graham get hurt in their in my opinion ill advised decisions to fight again
