Wilder - Liackovich spoiler
This is only the second time I have seen Wilder; I thought he was a protected fighter. But he was patient, boxed well for the opening.... and scored a devastating KO.
OK Liackovich is past it; but he was boxing quite well. And the KO was frightening, even though Sergei was not even hit clean.
He looks like the biggest puncher in the world, pound for pound, and has a real chance against the Klits. On talent and potential I think he's number 3 in the world

Re: Wildetr - Liackovich spoiler
Great ko but let's not get ahead of ourselves. We need to see him in against a guy that can take his punches to see how good he really is. I think the likes of Thompson (if he loses to Pulev) or Arreola would be a good shout for his next opponent.

People were saying the same thing about David Price 8 months ago!reggaereggae wrote:This is only the second time I have seen Wilder; I thought he was a protected fighter. But he was patient, boxed well for the opening.... and scored a devastating KO.

He needs a real test before we can start claiming he's top three in world!
He looked horribly raw in the brief time it took to make Harrison fall down.

Only seen this fight and audley fight. His KO records impressive but he's yet to fight a live opponent or at least a decent contender. He could end up
The next Seth Mitchell.

Will people ever learn?
Re: Wildetr - Liackovich spoiler
Price could borrow a few of his moves, as his power is probably as good too.
Re: Wildetr - Liackovich spoiler
no doubt about Price's power but Wilder has better hand speed and can't have a worse chin surely.G0mez wrote:Price could borrow a few of his moves, as his power is probably as good too.

Good finish, i wonder if he's still pencilled in as a future Chisora opponent?

Prices chin seemed fine to me, he took some huge shots from Thompson in the rematch. The first fight it was a shot behind the ear that scrambled his equilibrium. I'd say his stamina is more of an issue than his chin.rm1 wrote:no doubt about Price's power but Wilder has better hand speed and can't have a worse chin surely.G0mez wrote:Price could borrow a few of his moves, as his power is probably as good too.

OK, there are good points; he is untested. Maybe I got carried away; but his power seems supernatural.
ANd yes, a guy like Thompson would be a great test and would have a good chance.
I just think because of his punch he has a good chance against Wlad

Good speed and power but he's been protected for a reason. His team will know about his chin...the signals are all there.
Once he goes in with someone who can absorb his shots and punch back we'll see what he's made of, my guess is he won't like it at all.

Re: Wilder - Liackovich spoiler
I doubt there will be many fighters who will be able to absorb his shots. You might be able to take the odd few here and there but with the power he's carrying you wont be able to stand up to too many of them.Riddick Blowe wrote:Good speed and power but he's been protected for a reason. Wlad allegedly dropped Wilder when they sparred according to Manny Steward's assistant. However, sparring with Haye and Wlad was great experience for Wilder and he has improved considerably since.
Wilder's legs are rather thin, which is a worry.

Do you think he has the big punchers curse; poor punch resistance?columbo wrote:I doubt there will be many fighters who will be able to absorb his shots. Irony is if price had got past the tiger, then a shootout with wilder could have well happened.
And whoever landed first........

Re: Wilder - Liackovich spoiler
He's starting to get my attention that's for sure. Got some power but I agree with the law, legs are tiny for a heavyweight. Gonna be a fun ride that's for sure and will challenge for a title at least.

Re: Wilder - Liackovich spoiler
Ive never really seen him take a significant shot mate! That's probably a lot to do with the standard of opposition aswell but I couldnt really say until I saw him in against a 'live' opponent it's hard to say.palooka wrote:Do you think he has the big punchers curse; poor punch resistance?columbo wrote:I doubt there will be many fighters who will be able to absorb his shots.
