They have been around a while, I came across them when Ashley Theophane won world title against a guy with a 2-4-1 record in 2006. He won the belt again in his last fight, against 20-16-2, so they are getting slightly better

That reminds of a few years back when I emailed the World Boxing Empire (WBE) to try and get a world title shot for my mate who had 3 wins and 4 losses as a pro but was on a good 1-1 run in his last two bouts.

They replied saying that if he could muster up two wins to get to 5-4 then they would certainly be interested in putting him in for one of their esteemed baubles.

I reckon those organisations would sanction anything for a few quid just as long as the boxer has two arms. Or one in exceptional circumstances!

I know of a female that fought for one of their titles. I asked at the time was it for a major title, her trainer said it was until I saw it on boxrec.
