I hope Golota's not ready, cause I've got cash on Byrd to win. I mean the nutty Golota can't win this, can he?!

at first i completely discounted Golota, but the more and more i think of it, i am giving him a better chance! I think it's the most interesting fight on the card.

Depends on what you mean by most interesting, if it has the potential to be a good fight then yes I agree. However, if you mean interesting as in close to call then surely Ruiz vs Fres beats it - that might not be a Barrera vs Morales, but its tough to pick a winner.

You're getting me worried now!

The best fight on the card has to be Mayorga/Rivera. I've put a small longshot bet on Rivera at 21/4, who looked a very decent fighter winning in Germany. Not sure he'll handle Mayorga's power though...

nah, Ruiz-Oquendo doesn't interest me much. Yeah going into it, it's 50-50...but it's gonna be a stinker. Golota is unpredictable, i dont know how good he is these days. Byrd is expected to win, however struggled last time out. Obviously i';s all opinions..but i am more interested in Byrd-Golota

Adam, if you put it like that then I would agree - I am quite interesting in seeing what Golota has left. With Oquendo and Ruiz we have two performers that are not eradict and we can safely predict quite a dull contest (although Oquendo is quite hot and cold - ask Mo Harries!). Oquendo vs Ruiz should be the more interesting because it involved two top ten, evenly matched fighters in what really should be a unification bout. But we no its going to be a closish decision either way.

Golota vs Byrd is a fight that really shouldn't be a forgone conclusion - I mean Golota shouldn't be sanctioned, he hasn't fought anyone with a pulse in 4 years and loses everytime he fights a top ten opponent. In Byrd he's probably fighting the #1 ranked fighter out there.

Yet I agree, its this one that has sparked the imagination. How much has Golota got left? What is he going to do? Is Byrd fading?

exactly, more question marks around it. Had Golota come in overweight, then it would be 'same old story' scenario. But Golota looks like he's really prepared, and if he is back to his best...then Byrd has his work cut out. But we can't assume that Andrew is as good as he was, when he was beating Riddick Bowe on a couple of occaisions before getting DQd.

it's a harder fight to pick. I'd feel safer putting money on Byrd, than backing Ruiz to beat Oquendo or vice versa...but just got a strange feeling about the Byrd-Golota fight.

Just found out Polish Satellite station TVN are showing the NY fights live, and free!

German ARD are showing Harris/Urkal too.

Gdlota does indeed look in great shape but I can't see him being the fighter he was. As good as Golota is he always seems to lose the big ones.

Byrd is so tricky I can't seee Golota dealing with him, I go for Chris Byrd on points.

Does anyone think that Byrds tricky awkward style fustrating Golota that much after about 8 rounds that Golota quits? I think this is a real possibilty unless Golota has got his head sorted out these days.
