Ezzard Charles has achieved Unification status by successfully defending the WBO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP three times consecutively. This is how he did it:

Week 17: Successfully defended against Toomy Loughran.
Week 16: Defeated Sam Langford by UD.
Week 15: Defeated Archie Moore by KO in the 8th.
Week 14: Defeated Michael Spinks by SD. (Won the WBO Title).

Ezzard will now be able to unify the WBO Title for every week that he holds it.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! And here is your new replica belt - you get to keep this one.

Let it be heard throughout Simland...when the chance came to unify the titles....and when HH and his fighter was given the fight THEY HAD BEEN DEMANDING, a cold yellow chill came over him, and his lizard inadvertently drained in a flash of blind fear. HE declined to unify, and HE did not have the back bone to go forward....instead HH chose to go back and fight 15 more rounds with Loughran in hopes that he would be relieved of the responsibility of unification.

Let's hope that the same paralysis does not encompass geto when/if his turn comes.
