Green to face Kessler!

Post by ArtOfWar »

Should be a good fight, although I doubt it will be shown in Britain. That is unless Eurosport show it which is unlikely.

The World Boxing Council has ordered Danny Green to defend his WBC super-middleweight interim title against unbeaten Dane Mikkel Kessler.Green is expected to resume training next week after resting since his points win against New Zealander Sean Sullivan on March 21.. In that bout Green was severely dehydrated and was admitted to hospital after the ten round bout. The connections of Green have expressed interest in challenging for the vacant IBF 168 pound championship with the recent retirement of Sven Ottke. West Australian promoter Justin Manolikos will bid for Danny Green's WBC interim title defence in Perth in July. Manolikos believes the fight, the first world title fight in Perth, Western Australia would attract more than 10,000 spectators. Burswood Dome was likely to be the favoured venue.

Green has already refused to fight Beyer as they offered to little money and Sauderland wanted to control his 2 fights afterwards, I think that he wont fight Kessler because he has said he wants to fight for the IBF title and has also been offered to fight Nader Hamden for the IBF panpacific title which would rank him in the top 10 with them.

I would like to see him fight Kessler as it would be a better fight than Hamden but we will have to wait and see.

Green V Mundine is the one for me, but a fight with Kessler would be ok. However what is Kessler like? Special fighter or another Scandinavian with a hyped up record? Wouldn't be the first time

I heard that Mundine wants 5 mill to fight Green so i don't think that will happen.
I have only seen Kessler once and i think that Green will beat him fairly easily. Any fighter that dosn't run from Green is going to be stopped, Lucas made the mistake of trying to exchange blows and look what happened to him.

I like Green alot, he's a real good fighter. He's the best in the division now that Calzaghe has moved up. I hope he can sort out all those injury problems he's been having, there holding him back a bit.
