Re: Mayweather vs Canelo Fight scores
119-109.
I'm tired of seeing people trying to walk Floyd into corners, bolt upright with a cocked overhand, only to be peppered by counters for their trouble as they swing and miss; again. Yeah, he's amazing, but he couldn't do it against someone he wasn't psychologically dominating.
He's a trolling version of Herol Graham. When his opponents have power, they seldom have fast feet, feints or the ability to not telegraph their shots. Obviously, it's because Mayweather's so good that they are telegraphing so much, I just think that someone like a prime Mosley would have enough intuition of range and fluidity of movement to break Mayweather's psychological grip on the pace of fights.
If he stands in front of you in a wide stance, it's not usually to throw powerful shots (Bruno) but to roll under yours. There's not much you can do in that situation but triple your jab and keep moving, trying to feint and punch your way into better positions. He's most dangerous when cornered because it's one of the few times he'll plant himself for a counter. That's his genius: he makes opponents the most scared of his potential threat when he's at his most vulnerable.
I wish there was a miniature McCallum around - someone with a stalking style and the ability to roll under and around Floyd's keepaway shots, doubling up their body and head punches with the same hand like McCallum and Tyson used to. MM sure could triple that jab. Respect to Alvarez for doing his best in a brave showing.
