I just glanced down until I came to someone I thought was too high... I think Hagler and Monzon are a little too high. And I think Ezzard Charles needs to be up there. Clean KOs of Archie Moore when behind on points deserves acknowledgement.

Muhammad Ali was 7-1 with no unavenged defeats against members of that club. My inference is that speed, skill, and heart can overcome even the roughest and toughest of opponents.

Entire list invalidated by the selection of Cleveland Williams ahead of Chavez, Davis, Armstrong, Tszyu, Hostak, Wills, McGovern, Jones Jr, Benn. etc.

I did the same but I didn't make it to them, Wilfredo Gomez was way too high. He could certainly punch, but a lot of his KO's were of the accumulation variety and it didn't carry up with him.

Whomever compiled the list should check out some Marvin Johnson.

I've ready through that magazine multiple times. I even have it sitting right near me right now.

Agreed, Archie Moore is top5 on my list anyway... And he's porbably a good candidate for the number one spot.

I'd say that George Foreman needs to be in the top five... I'd definitely put him above Jack Dempsey anyway.

I've come across this list a few times, and The Hawk 9I believe) is the standout error in this list. He's definitely a top 10 on this list, to my mind.

I agree, one of the biggest one punch bangers I've ever seen.

I am probably the biggest (or one of the biggest) Bazooka Gomez fans on here, but I couldn't agree more. He used to beat the living eff out of his opponents, but in terms of punching power, I couldn't put him above, say, Zarate, even though he KO'd him. I would probably put him 40ish
For one-punch power, although he was by no means a great fighter, I would throw Jorge Castro into or near the top 100. In his prime (147-160), dude could hit.

I'd have him higher too, but he's 25. 91 is Benn and that is also too low. Good to see Holyfield get his just due. I think the Marquez brothers are missing.

The list was made in 2003 though, when the Marquez brothers still had a great deal of their legacies yet to be defined. They didn't put too many fighters in the list that were still active at the time.

Wladimir Klitschko would have to make the list now as well, probably Vitali too. I personally think Rafael was a bigger puncher P4P than Juan Manuel Marquez was, though Juan is the greater fighter and has had the more successful career.

If he keeps looking like he's been looking, they need to reserve a spot for GGG in the years to come too :OhYes:

I wouldn't have Vitali in my top 500. Wlad can bang.

Stupid list when you have Naseem Hamed 20 places lower than Gerald McClelan, the fighter whose main claim to fame is stopping a shot Julian Jackson twice.

Hearns is too low for me. Devastating one punch power and carried up through the weight classes.

Put any other ref in that first round against Benn and Benn doesn't make it out.

Benn described that he could feel the ligaments in his neck being stretched out, that's scary thinking some one may literally punch your head off. Luckily Alfredo Asaro was there to do one of the worst refeering I've seen in a round
Yeah, and I wonder was some of Naz's victims would say!
