Open question to Sky TV staff before next Saturday's show

Post by JimJim2009 »

This is a straight forward request, not a sarcastic comment.

Can anyone from Sky come on here and reassure fans that the live sky broadcast team WON'T give away the outcome of Wlad vs Povetkin which is on allegedly on the same night.

I subscribe to Sky sports, and to BN. Ideally I'd like to watch the Sky show, which with the red button option, starts at 6pm - and record the BN coverage of Wlad vs Povetkin.

However, I don't trust the Sky team to keep their mouths shut about the result from Russia. They've got previous form on this sort of thing and most dedicated boxing fans will want to enjoy both shows without some cxxt giving spoilers away on air.

It would be nice if Ed Robinson or anyone else can come on here and reassure the hardcore boxing fans who subscribe.

I thought allegedly would keep it quiet with Ochieng v Smith they did right up until FW said "well done to Liam Smith" Surely they know we are going to watch both. Try tweeting some of the sky team as I know when Joshua comes out and blows his opponent away they may bring it up.

If my memory is correct, Glyn Leach of Boxing Monthly took the Sky Sports team to task in an editorial, earlier this year, over this sort of thing.

I want to watch the whole Sky show, but quite simply don't trust them, so when it comes down to it I'll probably watch the Bo x Nation show live and record Sky.

I don't think it's reasonable to expect Sky to blanket promise that they'll not to give out a spoiler.

Why not?

The BBC inform viewers of Saturday night's news that if they don't want to know the football scores before MOTD to look away now, they don't read them out either.

That's different. I'm not saying that Sky shouldn't make a reasonable effort to avoid giving away results on other cards and/or if they do, give a 'spoiler warning', but when they'll inevitably interviewing third parties live, expecting them to make a blanket promise is unreasonable.

Simply put

1. They won't come on here or answer your question

2. They most definitely WILL reveal the results

Best best is whenever they start talking about it, put your fingers in your ears and shout BLAH BLAH BLAH... yes they are pudenda

Sorry can't help anymore!

Ed has already made a response and has said he'll ask at work and get back to the OP. He's not been shown-up as a bullshitter on here before, so why not take him at his word and give him a chance?

To be fair sky have been doing a lot more than the other channel but it seems to me they started to do it back to them almost as if in retaliation .

No but they've been the worst.

Fair play to Ed Robinson for saying he'll go in and ask. I want another 6 hour saturday night bonanza, if they can just shut up about the result, I'll be watching sky and recording BN.

It won't look too great if Ed comes back on here tomorrow and says " hi guys, we will be giving away the result. And at the earliest opportunity too ! "

The producer confirmed that no one working for Sky will give away the Klitschko result on our Saturday show.

On another note, I saw Dereck Chisora at Dean's funeral today and he is indeed hoping to be in Wlad's dressing room on the night. Del Boy says that he'll be examining Wlad's hand wraps on behalf of the Povetkin camp if allowed...

Why would Chisora be doing that for Povetkin ?

More likely that its to wind Wlad up, Maybe theres a deal , Chisora gets under the skin of Wlad enough to force him into making mistakes and losing to Povetkin then Povetkin will grant Chisora the opportunity to fight him ????
