Boxing on TV question

Guys, I'm just wondering if anybody has an answer to these questions:

1) Could the subscription services of a channel like B-o-x-n-a-t-i-o-n be made available of the Freeview platform?

2) If 'no', why?

3) If 'yes', I'm guessing the costs related to forecast revenue don't add up. Why is it prohibitively expensive, for example, is it mainly down to the company who own the platform charging too much; Ofcom charging steep levies; both; and/or something else?

The nature of allegedly subscription service would make it difficult to launch on Freeview. Subscription channels like Setanta Sports and ESPN where available on Freeview via Top-Up-TV however Top-Up-TV is set to close forever at the end of this month.

I think the best way for allegedly to make it's way into non pay TV homes would be via a streaming app. This would potentially allow the channel to be accessible through a Smart TV, YouView, Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Smart Blu Ray players and Media streaming devices like Roku.

Thanks for that, Chad. It's a shame that the TV business is set up like it is. I'd like to be able to choose and buy on a per programme basis, but I suppose that's a way off yet.
