At various times during the 1910s, Fred Kay was the Australian titleholder in the welterweight and middleweight divisions. According to a Kay family document containing a biographical sketch of one Frederick John Kay found in the Eucalypt Family History Collection on Eucalypt.com/Field/index.html, Kay was born on June 27, 1890 and died on May 25, 1966 in Sutherland (Australia?). Soon after his boxing career ended, Kay entered the hotel business. The research for the biographical sketch was done by Harold Kay in 1982.
