Active Fighters Who Will Make The IBHOF

Post by Seamus »

Based on what they've already accomplished that is. Obviously, Floyd, PacMan, B-Hop, Fat Toney, Chris John, Pongsaklek Wonjongkam, Marquez, the Klitschko brothers. Anyone else ?

Not sure Chris John would make it on accomplishments.

I think Morales would probably get the nod over John. LOL, pong won't make it either.

Chris John 48-0-3. Champion at 2 weights 15-0-3 in title fights.
Pongsaklek Wonjongkam 90-5-2 22-2-2 in title fights.

And? I don't think Wongjongkam is undeserving but a high percentage of those voters completely ignore lower weight fighters. John is about as deserving as Paul Spadafora.

Well, John's opposition hasn't been any worse than that of either of the Klitschko brothers . . .

Wongjongkam has definitely beaten better fighters than either brother.

Agreed, but the media cares about the Klitschko brothers. I don't think they're deserving but they will get in. John won't sniff the HOF. Might not even make the ballot.

In the last 6 years, Ricardo Lopez, Jung Koo Chang, and Myung Woo Yuh have gotten in, so the lightest fighters may be getting some well deserved recognition.

True, Johnson too, Pong still has a long line in front of him. John is even less deserving than Gatti.

Narvaez is 40-11 and 25-1-1 in title fights with belts in two divisions. A wonderful boxer who has been a beltholder for more than a decade. But i wouldn't put him in the hall for the same reason I wouldn't consider John: level of competition. John fought Marquez in 2006 and has done little for seven years while good featherweights have come and gone. In this era of 4-6 "champions" per division and horrible cupcake matchmaking, records in title fights and/or the number of defenses can be a meaningless statistic, IMO
