Carl Froch v George Groves: Who do you have?
Who do you have between Carl Froch and George come later this month, because it is one of those fights where opinion is pretty much split. There are people see George Groves as the young lion that has come to behead Carl Froch the Old Warrior who some people think is on the slide with his age and the run that he has been through since 2008, but yet this also a massive step up for Groves at the same time. How does everyone have it at the moment.

Re: Carl Froch v George Groves: Who do you have?
Back to reality for a sec (and by that i mean a straight forward reply to the OP)
Froch wins this with a very aggresive, dominating and ruthless performance.
I just don't see Groves winning it....just my view of course, appreciate others see it differently.

Froch by blamage. Blamage on George Groves.
Re: Carl Froch v George Groves: Who do you have?
Agree with Adam,
I think it is a tough fight to call in lots of ways - not totally convinced by the "new" Froch, not sure he is that much better than the one who lost to Dirrell, Kessler 1 and Ward.... but just think 36 minutes is a long time. Not sure Groves knows enough to win on points and I cannot see him in stopping him.
Massive step up compared to Degale, not just in experience but also in the style of fighter. Degale can be lazy at times and the rounds Degale did step it up - he generally won. One thing that is different with the "new" Froch is that he generally fights for the full 36 minutes if needs be.
Can see Groves having his moments, but a late Carl stoppage surely.

The smart money is on Froch and I do think he will win. However I do have a feeling that it'll be close enough to demand a rematch.

George reddens Froch's conk to the hue of a tomato at some point during the fight.

Re: Carl Froch v George Groves: Who do you have?
It's always the way - people want the underdog to win so much that it goes from 'could feasibly win' to 'will win'. I've been guilty of it, right up until I'm left scratching my head thinking 'why did I believe otherwise'.
Froch will knock Groves out, he is clear levels above him.

froch is about 3-1 on but i see it as froch is a slight favourite but groves has really got to froch in interviews and froch looks wound up to me . froch can be outboxed and i think groves will jab and move and frustrait froch groves will use his footwork to nick a close points win .
Re: Carl Froch v George Groves: Who do you have?
He certainly does Steve, it looks as though Froch is more complicated than the straightforward fighting man that he is advertised as being.stevedoc wrote:froch is about 3-1 on but i see it as froch is a slight favourite but groves has really got to froch in interviews and froch looks wound up to me . froch can be outboxed and i think groves will jab and move and frustrait froch groves will use his footwork to nick a close points win .
Re: Carl Froch v George Groves: Who do you have?
froch really looks puzzeled by groves who seems as cool as you can be before such a big fight ,groves has run rings around froch at press confrences and froch is starting to take it personaly ........ but it could all mean nothing was they get in the ringpalooka wrote:He certainly does Steve, it looks as though Froch is more complicated than the straightforward fighting man that he is advertised as being.stevedoc wrote:froch is about 3-1 on but i see it as froch is a slight favourite but groves has really got to froch in interviews and froch looks wound up to me . froch can be outboxed and i think groves will jab and move and frustrait froch groves will use his footwork to nick a close points win .

What has groves ever done to make Froch only a slight favourite?stevedoc wrote:froch is about 3-1 on but i see it as froch is a slight favourite but groves has really got to froch in interviews and froch looks wound up to me . froch can be outboxed and i think groves will jab and move and frustrait froch groves will use his footwork to nick a close points win .
Re: Carl Froch v George Groves: Who do you have?
Groves may come apart when he's hit but Froch is getting wound up and is definately taking things personally, as if boxing Groves is an insult in itself; he seems to think that only foreign boxers have the skill to challenge him. In Groves he has got a domestic opponent who isn't overawed, if Groves is getting pointers from someone to rattle Froch they certainly know what they are doing and if he's doing it off the cuff he is a very dry and deadpan man.
